Hmmm, maybe I will just move it forward a hole and see how it sits.

No need to move it to the last hole at the back to correct the angle. Not forward.

    I will try this.
Just talked to Dylan and he said that he cycled the suspension by hand and he thought that the shackles would contact the shackle mount if they were the other way. He said it drooped better with them this way.

Yeah that's what I thought might be the reason. And yes with the angle the way it is, it will droop more but compression will be shorter before the spring goes negative.

The angle is a bit tight but I don't know about them being backwards. What does it affect with them in this direction?

thats gonna put alot of pressure on the spring about 3 inches away from the eyelet during hard compression.... not good, i dont think they are installed correctly imo. id flip the hackles and probly move it back to the rear most hole depending on angle after u flip them

Flip the shackles and move them back one hole is what you would do?

you'll gain a bit on ride height, but the angle will be better and you'll keep your shackles from hitting your leafs

But in it's current position the spring can move further up and flatten out more rather then going negative. The only pressure would come from if the shackle contacts the main leaf on compression. Is that what you are thinking?

Yeah just finished picturing it a bit more in my head. I see what you were saying Jace. They need to flip and maybe move to the back hole. But you might need to grind down the shackle mount a bit so they will stuff all the way. I had to do that.

shouldn't need that if he's on the back hole

If the lift is more then desired he would have to move back to the 3 hole. This is where mine is and I have rake. Noah want more level then rake.

    I don't even know anymore
Figured i throw up a post and answer a few questions

We tried it setup with the shackle facing the other way at first as thats how it was pictured when i looked at other similar setups but with it that way, it was contacting the shackle mount pretty heavily. I pulled it back off and stared at it for a few minutes and tried flipping it around to how it is now. This way gave a lot more clearance, the grease zerk was easier to access and it sits just like a boomerang shackle does. Basically it looked like that was exactly how it should fit.

As for the hole, these Alcans are pretty damn flexy and travel quite a bit so under full droop, the shackle is pretty much vertical with it in the current hole. I was afraid that moving it to the rear hole could cause the shackle to invert. That would suck. Putting it in the second hole kept the shackle from swinging to far forward so we figured that was the one to use.

Either way as i told Noah, if its not setup correctly, i'm more than happy to change whatever is needed as i definitely don't want anything to be wrong.

Noah, feel free to give us a call if you want anything done and i'm happy to make sure everything is exactly how it should be.

    Dylan
