Years ago (shortly after my High School graduation I decided I was going to do a two-week ride through New England on the Ninja 250 I had at that time. Looped over through NH, VT, down into the Finger Lakes region of NY, then cut across into CT and Rhode Island, then came back up through Mass into Cape Cod and up the coast back into Maine.
I used my horn more in MA than in the other six states combined. People trying to merge into me, cutting me off, tailgating me, everything. And no turn signals! I had people trying to merge into where I was, and when I'd beep the horn at them to say "Hey, I'm already in this spot" they'd blow their horn back and wave their hand like they were saying "Well then MOVE, you jerk!"
And forget trying to merge from two lanes to one. What a cluster that always was. The concept of a zipper merge was totally foreign to most of the drivers I saw down there. Everybody wanted to be first, and nobody would let anybody else in.
I don't know how you guys deal with it, honestly. I know that I'll certainly never ride a motorcycle through Mass again. Cape Cod wasn't bad, you just had to watch out for all the bluehairs. But the rest of the state? Yikes.

I know exactly what you mean. I think I'm going to sell my bike this year, it's just not fun riding in MA and way too dangerous. I loved riding in upstate NY, where I grew up, but it's a shit show around here. If you know someone looking for a road bike, let me know! I need to get it tuned up first but once I go through the carbs, it'll run like new.

    What you has?
I'm thinking about upgrading to something a little newer this spring. I've got a 2005 Suzuki M50 right now. I made the mistake of sitting on a Honda Shadow Phantom this past fall and fell in love with it, but there's not many of them out there used with low mileage. (My M.O. with bikes seems to be to pick them up when they're a couple years old and have low mileage, and avoid the depreciation hit on buying a new one)

    Good Morning ,

I sometimes forget how SPOILED I am when it comes to my Tacoma.

Going through my "Move" checklist included a trip to U-Haul for their "Tow Inspection" and we got a big  from their Tech; a clean 12 year old truck actually ready to tow a trailer.....

They also saved me a few possible headaches during that inspection....When my Spare tire took its "Ride" some of my trailer wiring got stretched and cracked so with a few $$, a new harness w/warranty is in place....

And of course what does our local weatherman have coming in for next week ......possible SNOW along the East Coast.....Gotta Love New England ;)...I do NOT need to be in Florida till the 17th of February BUT dam....:)

I have a 2002 Suzuki Katana with about 11k miles on it. It looks and runs like new. Yoshi pipe, stage 1 kit, MX style handlebars so you sit upright on it (and the windscreen is tall enough to still throw the air over your head, still have the factory clips), upgraded clutch, adjustable levers (still have factory levers). It's a nice looking machine but I bet I put under 300 miles on it in all of 2013. With a baby now, I don't see that changing much either. I might consider trading for a pop-up or a dual sport bike.

You got mouths to feed who need you alive (you live in MA, remember?), and if you don't already workout like a fiend your ass is going to expand (sorry, its the truth). Sell the silly bike, get yourself some nice equipment to get the family outdoors together and exercise.

Nice. I like the sport-touring bikes, but I've found that I have something of a throttle problem with them. I just get into that accelerate-shift rhythm and the next thing you know I'm doing 70. With a cruiser I seem to be able to hold closer to the speed limit.

You over simplify. Being married with children and a desk job makes you fat. Riding motorcycles in MA gets you killed.

Shit, you don't need the wife and kids, just the desk job will do it. I'm a pretty active guy outside of work, and I've gained an inch on my pants size since I started here three years ago. Some of my coworkers are fairly large people, even the ones without kids.
No argument on the riding in MA, though.
