    If i cared about crawling over fucking boulders and trees - i'd spend more money and throw 1 ton axles under the front and rear. OR, i can leave my rear axle as is, and use my dana 44 for the front, which will be perfect for any wheeling i do and save me quite alot of money...da da da...makes sense huh?? but That's outside the point.

    All i said was i like the look of stock width much better than full size width. ;)

    There's a guy I wheel with who threw a Toyota 8 under the front of his '94 Toy Pickup and wheels it fine with 35's on it. He is so light he has traction issues at times though and his little 4 banger can't even spin the 35's when we are out snow wheeling. So I'm sure that has a lot to do with his lack of breaking.

    Im sure J88logue will not have many issues breaking once he builds his D44. And as far as being wide enough while wheeling he can run wheel spacers. As far as looks go i bet youre going to fall in love with the wide look after you put spacers on it..

    Nah just not my preference, and besides the appearance, i've already got both axles i need. I'm only going forward from here.

    All of the trucks that inspired me to even think about an sas were 1st gen tacomas with a dana 44 front, stock rear, on 37s or 38.5s. I love that look and that's what im going for. It will be plenty capable for anything i do. If i run into another 10 grand and the love of a full width i'll let you know :p Don't hold your breath,

    you know what he means.. it turns em in 4 low but doesnt spin them like when you get in the mud shure you can put it in 4 low and turn the tires but you want to spin them with some speed to get them to clean out and grab..

    We where climbing this ice hill and brady and i could pin it grab a few gears and fly up the hill cuz of wheel speed. the kid the the 4cyl didnt have enough power to spin the tires fast enough.

    fucking weird - i grew up riding in 4 bangers that spun 33s, 35s, 37s.....

    Must have been a good dream.

    lol my first truck was a 2.7... spun 33s like a boss out on the trails! But when i drove to Boise and L.A...... i was 3rd gear to the floor hauling my bikes haha

    I guess it depends on what surface we are on. I don't often try to spin my tires, so I guess I can't say for sure I don't spin. I guess last wheeling trip in 4 lo and climbing a snow and icy mud ditch I had to pin it and threw up some earth, but anyone can spin on snow and ice.

    lack of weight on those drive tires maybe???

    I would have loved if you where there with brady and i to see if you could make that hill.. would have been cool

    It should be able to roll them over with 5.29s. All in how you work the clutch.

    I doubt its lack of weight as my offroad rig is a 1st gen 4runner

    He is running 5.29 diff gears and 4.7's in the tcase with a manual trans and I'm talking spinning 3 wheels at once. He was in 4wd and has a welded rear. Even as slick as that hill was, when he ran out of momentum he couldn't keep the wheels spinning and they would just come to a stop and he would slide all the way back to the bottom.

    well then you sir need more grippy tires. thats never a bad thing..
