Please add me to the interested list. I want to come and get it from you personaly. I am wanting the steel fully assembled and hopefully some help from you getting it mounted. We just got a bad storm so the next weekend we have good weather I will come see you. I plan to use it for an RTT.

Sounds like a plan. We got a little bit of the storm but like always the weather man over predicted what we got.

I have a big batch of the rails coming in early next week. Let me know if you want to dive in.

I have had a couple people interested in matching racks for a topper. I may be able to work out a deal for those that want to order both racks. I also have a set of brand new thule tracks that I was saving for my topper. Well mine came with tracks already installed so the I will throw these in for the first person to place an order for a topper rack. I believe they are 44" Long and would be perfect for the short bed toppers. Might be a tad bit short for a long bed.

Had a local guy that really liked the rack and has asked me to start designing one for an FJ Cruiser. Met with him today and got some measurements to start the design. Going to be nearly the same rack just extended to cover the full roof of the FJ. Anyone with an FJ that may be interested let me know.

Here are some images he can look at to see what the design looks like.

I havent, the design would be different because from what I understand the 1st gens don't have mounting points in the roof like the 2nd gens so the design would have to be different. I know box rocket had a setup for the first gen and it seemed like I saw another guy on here that had some rails similar to mine cut for his first gen but I am not sure what he used to mount it. Maybe one day I will figure out a solution and get one going for a first gen.

These Racks look great OP, I've recently been looking at options for Bed/Roof Racks, I love the low profile of yours compared to some of the larger names out there that sit up higher off the roof. I do have a new 2014 DCSB Tacoma (with Fin!) and am in CA, without the tools or expertise to weld my own set together I'd probably want to go with your fully assembled steel rack if I do go this route...and I am really wanting to. If you can let me know what shipping would be like to 94928, I want to get some numbers together. Damn group buys all over the place, seat covers and tents and sliders, thankfully its tax return time!

As BrianCO mentioned he has plans to use this with an RTT, and with their group buy coming up in March I have been thinking the same. Would you be able to assemble a steel kit so that it fits with my fin? Also I would love to see one of these roof racks with the additional cutouts as a finished product if you have any pics. And nice job with the CAD drawings sir! I work for autodesk and glad to see our product in use here helping create some great stuff for our trucks.

I will have some pics of a finished product by the weekend hopefully. BrianCO's and another local buyer's will be getting built this week. Thanks for the compliments and I will PM you a shipping quote.

Hey Zach, I apologize for not reading the whole thread, but what is the difference between the "Rails and Hardware" option vs. the "DIY Weld Together Kit"?

Also, what would shipping to 94587 look like. And if it's a substantial amount, would there be extra if I combined shipping with someone?

Rails and hardware is simply the side rails and the bolts and spacers to mount those to the roof. The DIY kit comes with the cross bars cut and ready to weld into place with instructions/dimensions to do so. Some people wanted to source their own steel for cross bars rather than pay the extra to ship them.

Shipping for DIY kit is $65 for your time zone. I will refund any differences once I actually ship the item but so far the estimates have been low by a couple dollars when I have shipped. I imagine that if you ordered with someone else I could do multiple DIY kits on a pallet through fastenal and it would end up being cheaper for both of you. Fastenal quoted me $55-60 for a fully welded rack to most places in the western U.S. If we shipped that way the pallet would be slightly heavier with both racks but size wouldn't change so I am thinking maybe $75.00.

Thanks for the clarification. So going off of the CAD diagram, the DIY kit will have 6 crossbars, correct?

I'm really interested, but just want to see it on another truck when you start mass producing them. How long are you doing this GB?

6 bars is correct. I wanted to do this as a group by but there was interest and then people backed out and then new people started in. I have just been fulfilling orders as I receive them. I have 3-4 full racks I will be welding up this weekend for people and will post pictures once they are finished.
