You mean one of these! I picked it up at Hifisoundconnection.com for $240 with the sub.

The only problem is that it took almost a month to get it, because they have to order it from mtx.

A Memphis 16-SC4.55. It's pushing 230W ish to the sub, and I'm using the other two channels for the front doors.

If you do decide to go with one, let me know, I'll let you know some hardware to find so you don't have to drill into the back firewall of the cab.

Do you have 2 speakers in the doors? My 04 has a larger speaker lower in the door and a smaller one higher up. I assume these are low/mid and a tweeter. Do they both run off the same speaker wire?

I had Bazooka Bass Tubes about 20 years ago in my Hilux reg cab pickup. I think they where 6" or 8" tubes. Sound was amazing. Check them out too. Now I "think" the come powered also. If not, mount the amp under the seat....:D

yeah, i looked at bazookas at crutchfield. only ones in stock are the 10". I dont think a 10 will fit behind my seat. i've been looking on craigslist too. to date, none have popped up.

I riding the fence between powered & non-powered subs. I kinda leaning toward non-powered since I can use the amp I get for them to power the front speakers too.

The best use of space you can get out of single cab truck is by using shallow subs. The Pioneer are very decent for the money, but you need to listen to a few and make a decision for whats right for you. Its hard to squeeze bass from a single cab because you cannot get much volume, and you will almost have to have the seat a bit more forward. If your tall, that would be unacceptable, so then go shallow for sure.

SRQ Taco (Damon's) box would be a great option, because ported will give alot more output, and I bet his little setup sounds great!

Great thing about a single cab is the only stepping stone is the sub and enclosure. A four channel amp is all you need to power it, and that way you can run channels 1 and 2 to your front speakers, and channels 3 and 4 bridged on a sub at 4 ohm. Make sure the sub you buy is either SVC 4 or DVC 2 so it can run at 4 ohm to match the amp!!

    Have fun!!

Yeah, it's got the two speakers. I bought 6.5" components and put the woofer in the bottom and tweeter in the top. Mounting the tweeters in the upper was a bit difficult and I need to figure out a better solution than electrical tape to the stock bracket, but it works for now. You can run two sets of wires or one, depends on where you put your crossovers. I put my crossovers in the door which meant I only ran one wire to each door, and then it splits after the crossover to the tweeter and woofer. If you put your crossovers by your amp, your gonna have to run two wires.

Custom box is the only way to go IMO . That is if you are on a budget. I had to end up making my own so yeah. Good luck

after closer inspection, there's no way i'm gonna put a bazooka tube behind my seat. i'm definitely going with a thunderform, preferably used but might go with one of the free shipping units off ebay. Send me that info Kroggy!!
