I don't see anything wrong with it, but funny you should mention an oil company planting trees. Mind you, this decades ago, but a chemical plant near the Ship Channel used to bury drums of waste in lined earthen pits. All told, the waste area covered a few hundred acres or so. Well, over time the liners of the pits (if there even was one) began to degrade, and so did the drums, so the ground water became contaminated. It was eventually discovered that eucalyptus trees removed and consumed the particular waste that contaminated the groundwater, so hundreds and hundreds of eucalyptus trees in rows after rows. Worked too, and you can still see them.
