You might have to change your apeture Jordan to compensate for the longer exposure. And ISO should be low.

The numbers should be all fractions or just 1'' which is what you want.

not sure why the shutter would stay open the whole time...

Hmm, if it's overexposing on Shutter priority could that mean you have the ISO set too high?

Make sure it says 1". If it's on shutter priority the camera should do the rest for you. Make sure your ISO is low, like 100 and try it again.

Sounds like you were in manual but you said it was on the "S" so that's good.

Was it super bright out when you tried it?

That turned out nice! Did you zoom the lens or the camera during that exposure?

I played around with mine and it will completely blow out the picture if its too bright even manually setting aperture and the ISO is low. the challenge is 1... so you cant just shoot anything. it makes you think because rather than you adjusting to the shot, you have to make the shot to your adjusted settings...

    Thank you!

    You are correct sir.

    Thanks!

Thanks, I focused on the speedometer at 135 mm and unzoomed to 28 mm while the shutter was open. Check out this video on some techniques Digital Photography 1 on 1: Episode 44: Slow Shutter Magic.

I have a few more that turned out cool that I will post in the Photography Thread.

^^ Nice Shot! I snapped a few at work yesterday using this same technique, just gonna try a few more things and then I'll post 'em later tonight.. ^^

^^ Cool Shot as well! I like the trails.. If you do end up doing a little post processing in the future, this shot may benefit from reducing the highlights a bit so that the welding spot & mask/shield aren't too blown out.

    Good Shots so far..

^^ Nice Shot Pete! Love the silky look to the water..^^

I'm gonna be out snowboarding the rest of the weekend, so I have to shoot & submit early this week..
( rough life, but somebody's gotta do it right? )
Anyhow, I had the same 1" exposure zoom idea as some of the others this week and had no time to shoot outside of work so I decided to go with this one:

    2014/01/30
    Ap: f/22
    ISO: 100
    Shttr: 1"

(the others are on the reg photo thread if anyone is interested..)
Good Luck to everyone this week, keep the cool submissions coming..
Cheers & Happy Super Bowl Weekend to All!!

never needed them. One battery for me lasts a LONG time. 1200+ shots. one of the big pros of a 60D is the battery life.
