First Tacoma shopper here too. Well technically "assistant Tacoma shopper" as I'm helping the old man shop for one. We're test driving a '14 SR5 4x2 4cyl on Saturday, but if this is true I think we're in the clear. I don't think the SR5 has heated seats.

His second choice is a Camry so I guess I'd better check to see if the one we're test driving has heated seats :D

Removed factory bed cover and installed UnderCover Elite. Added LOCKERDOWN console safe.
only on factory seat heaters. so if dealer installed no problem. has not been a problem anywhere, just not to US Specs.

yeah, it says in the article it is not a recall yet. We get that. Seems strange that you were in a meeting as a tech about a potential recall. Kinda early for that I think. Or was this just a shop meeting with team leaders and management?

Now that is the silliest thing I have ever heard. Im pretty sure all of us with 13's & 14's will survive. Ridiculous..Even if there is a recall Im not going to waste my time. Seems like every time I have ever took a vehicle in for dealer work it always comes out with more issues.

Currently it is only a stop sale for the new vehcles on the dealer lots.
That is the only info "officially" available at this time.

So who really needs a heated seat anyway...????

I'd rather have an air conditioned seat....

I'm not really big on heated seats with cloth interiors, but my brother in law's Cadillac with the leather seats are freaking COLD in the winter. Love to have the heated seats going there!

All you folks NOT living in places where the winter temps are often in single digits or less don't have a clue about the real value of heated seats. * SAAB was one of the early manufacturers to provide heated seats; even in base models because they felt it was a safety item. A warm driver can relax and drive better. I got them in my Taco by getting a set of Wet Okoles. * Driving home from work at night with temps in single digits.... I love heated seats. Take 'em over AC any day up here in NH. Now you folks in AL and GA probably feel different...

Is the limited with the softex the only one with heated seats, that's what I have. I thought I read that it was the one with heated "fabric" seats, unless the article meant the fabric under the seat, am I wrong to think that only the limited with the softex has heated seats?

My 14 TRD sport came with heated seats standard from factory. As OZ mentioned this might just be a Canadian thing where we don't need to opt for the limited model to get them...so lucky me :(

Just because we live here NOW doesn't mean we have been here all of our lives. I have lived in many places all over the US, including some very cold areas like Aberdeen Maryland. Even then I never had any issues with a cold seat when I got into my car or truck. To some people it has more of an effect. Also it depends on how you dress. Since I was in the military I had long-johns and cammo pants, so that kept me warm just fine. But even here when it just got down into single digits My seats never really felt cold for more than 10 or 15 seconds. Once I am sitting on it for a small bit I am fine. Now yes, having heated seats is a nice luxury, but I don't see it as a necessity unless you have leather seats. But again, that is my opinion.

Heated seats are dumb. I'm an ice fisherman that fishes the Canadian border a lot. Going to be in Gods country this weekend- regularly see 20 below ambient air in Pittsburg, NH at camp. I have never had a desire for heated seats. Now that said- there is one thing I am jelious of in my cousins F-150... cooled/air conditioned seats!! That is where it's at. I'm a big guy though- there is basically no situation where I need more heat -ummm- down there. Air conditioning though? Man that would be nice.

Wife has heated seats in her Civic (cloth seats). I always turn them off. Now in her old Accord with leather seats I did use them during the winter. With cloth seats, I do not find it necessary at all.
