Which bumper to choose?

I have decided to get a heavy duty winch bumper. But I am really torn here! In your opinion should I go with a ARB? or All Pro? I am planning on sticking with black!

 

I'm holding out for the Demello bumper. to answer your question, I believe the ARB is a better product, but the allpro looks better imo

Why do you say All pro? What makes it better? They are about the same price..

 

I havent seen finished pics yet either but when I saw the FJ version in person I thought build, fit and finish were superb.

 

I say All Pro as well.

 

i know Fire931 has the allpro and it flexes and rubs the paint under his lights

 

I don't really care for the shrockworks one too much.

 

The shockwrocks is nice except for that one part where it bolts to the bumper, it just doesn't flow at all and looks out of place. I also don't know where the heck you reach the winch handle and where you plug the remote. We only have on guys in the club with one and he doesn't wheel much so I can't say about trail performance.

The ARB is VERY solid (one piece), I like that it has hoops around the headlights and also it's so wide to the front that you can put your tools, drinks, cameras on it (not much place for that on the allpro). But a few downsides too: 1- VERY heavy, one piece so if you wreck a corner, you need to replace everything. 2- No shackle attachment which is very poor design IMO as we use that all the time in the trail. 3- Very "big", we have a few trucks with ARB and many with All-Pro in the club and the ARB seems to get stuck on obstacles a lot more (especially holes). This is because the sides are covering a more in front of the wheels and it is also quite a lot more "forward". 4- The access to the winch is very tight, you need to wedge your hand in there. 5- there is way less airflow to the rad than with the all-pro or factory bumper.

The All-Pro is light, 4 piece and you can replace each of them. It tends to move more (although they have improved their design in the last few months, to add supports). I have grinded a cutout on each side so now the bumper can move up without touching the fender flares. In fact the bumper doesn't move much, but the whol body moves relative to the frame. All-Pro has two shackle attachment and fog lights holes (you can hack the original fogs in there too).

My vote goes for all-pro. I also personally prefer the look of the all-pro as it blends more to the truck and doesn't look as huge as ARB.

it now sits lower than before, also has a new attachment point under the crossmember and also has two plates to hold the bumper from moving.

It will not touch there on the new ones (I've tested it). It might however touch on your fender flares but if you do like me and grind a cutout they will clear.

 

I hate to think of paying close to a grand for a bumper+shipping and then have to cut and grind on it. that is shitty craftsmanship, they should come notched for the flares.

 

My allpro doesn't rub on anything. it is made to work with the allpro skid plate but if you don't use their skidplate you have to put spacers in the lower mounts. if you don't it will rub.

 

You are right, IMO it should be done from the factory.. I hope they will revise their design but seems it was not done on this run.

It wasn't a big deal to cut because I painted mine colormatch anyway..

 

I put washers in mine even though I have the skidplate. It's sitting almost at lowest setting. I think the last batch is even lower than mine and shouldn't touch anything at all

ARB (on 1st generation Tacos anyway).

 

i like these and the price aint bad at all.you can get front and back for the price of a front bumper(arb or allpro) not sure how it holds up to offroading

 

I have one from them being built now, They do take a little wile to get shipped but its well worth, I have there rear bumper and its real solid.
