I don't undderstand this. I've given my 2 cents on the Sherman thing. I'm done with it. But for people to be freakin out over Marshawn not speaking to the media long enough is idiotic. He doesn't speak to the media throughout the season (supposedly has some bad blood with some of the reporters? :notsure: ) He talks for like 7 minutes at media day and that's not enough for anyone. I think they had planned on fining him $50,000, but I heard that might be rescinded.

Give the guy a break. I understand he's contractually obligated to speak to the media, but if he doens't care to pay the fine, let him pay the fine.

I agree this is stupid. He does do a pretty funny commercial for Beacon plumbing that is ALWAYS on the TV though. Its so funny, immediately after the last seconds tic off, he sprints for the tunnel to avoid the media. I admire that he doesn't get caught up in the all the press BS. I really like the way the guy handles himself.

Idk, my opinion is they are role models, a lot of people are huge fans of players, and want to see them do interviews and see what kind of person they are outside of the game. They get paid millions of dollars to talk to the media, so suck it the fuck up and do it. If I didn't like the media, I would look at my paycheck, and be inclined to do interviews, also knowing that my fans want to hear from me. So.... The whole "that's bull shit he gets fined for not talking" thing is ridiculous. They should all be talking to the media, if you don't like a certain reporter, do what Sherm did to Skip Bayless, otherwise give an honest interview for the ten minutes per week that they ask for. :notsure:

Sometimes it might be better to not know how they are off the field. Just let everyone keep their vision that you're a great player and keep your mouth shut. He could be the nicest guy ever. Who knows.

I just think if he doesn't care to pay the fine every time, keep takin his money and be done with it. if he's complaining about the fine that's a different story.

Colin Kaepernick on Sherman: “He’s afraid of our receivers, and that’s something I’m looking forward to [exploiting] next year.”
    — Bart Hubbuch (@HubbuchNYP) January 30, 2014

Colin Kaepernick on the final play of NFCCG: “If I throw that ball one foot farther, it’s a TD and now you’re the goat, Richard Sherman.”
    — Bart Hubbuch (@HubbuchNYP) January 30, 2014

“The two turnovers before that [last pick] were stupid. The last one was like … it hits you. ‘Cause if you throw it a foot farther, we're in the Super Bowl and everyone’s like, ‘Oh that’s the greatest comeback ever! You're a great quarterback!’ But I’m gonna play to try to make a play.”

    Next year, If ...

What did he want to hear most? "You're a great quarterback" This guy's a prima donna.

Yeah, I don't agree with Kaep saying that shit. Just come out and admit it was a great play, praise Sherman, and move the fuck on - be the bigger person.

Yeah that's not all he said, but if you want to just highlight that, then yeah it doesn't look good. But that's context for you, or lack there of

Look, I've admitted it tenfold, Sherman made a play and the better team is in the SB. I just think this is the case of a confident QB (because who doesn't want one) sticking up for his WR who Sherman put on blast. That last play had nothing to do with Crabtree and all about a bad throw. If you look back at the play, Crab had Sherman beat, the ball was under thrown.

I'll tell you this though, no one in professional football thinks Crabtree is mediocre. Maybe when he first got back from his injury this year, yes. But not later on in the season and in the playoffs. Not last year before his injury.

Now I'm not saying that I agree with all of Kap's statements, but I understand it. I mean, this is the same guy that made the "choke" gesture to him on the field. I'd be pissed too.

Oh and something else you left out of the interview...

"If you have to go out and tell everyone you're the best corner in the league, I feel like your confidence isn't where it should be,"

    :D

Agreed. I mean I understand the whole role model thing. But I really don't see the big deal in him not wanting to talk. If he's cool with paying the fine (which is DUMB in the first place), then they should just let him

The only thing I'll say in response is that if you think Sherman was out of position or that Crabtree was open. You're wrong. Look at that play throughout the season, most of his picks come from that play. He purposefully baits the QB into thinking the WR has a step but then his leaping ability and wingspan take it away. He usually intercepts that ball, but it was so badly thrown that all he could do was knock it down. Sherman can be heard on tape telling Thomas they're going to try me just before the throw. He knew what was coming and got into his normal under position.

Also, I think a lot of people in professional football think Crabtree is mediocre. I say mediocre because I don't think he's great, and that's the next step down. Make a Pro-Bowl or All-Pro and I'll change my opinion.

Sherman made the choking gesture after Crabtree smacked him in the head, being a poor sport because he didn't want to shake hands. IMO Crabtree is the poor sport, and Kaep should just stay out of it- admit he fucked up, don't make excuses, and don't feed the troll...

I can see where you're coming from and I can be wrong. But we'll never really know because the throw was bad and who knows what would have happened if it was a perfect throw. And about Crabtree, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Last year he got 1100 yards on a run-first team. You of all people know how hard that is because the Seahawks have the same mindset. I mean, comparatively speaking, did any Seahawk WR eclipse 1000 yards in the last couple years? I honestly don't know. I guess you can't really see his impact if you're not a Niner fan, especially this year because he missed most of the year with an achilles tear. But most people only remember stuff that's recent.

But in a league with 32 teams, and majority of them having 2 starting WRs. That's 64 starting WRs (at least) in the NFL. I don't know if I can name 32 WRs that are better than Crabtree. But again, that's coming from a Niner fan. Might be homerish. But are there any sports "experts" or analysts out there that have said that he was indeed mediocre? I don't know, I haven't seen.

Umm... yea it's been talked about bro. You don't do handshakes when the game isn't over yet. That's poor sportsmanship. I get it, he's fired up and made an awesome play. But coming from a guy who said before that game, "I don't know if there's going to be handshakes after this one," then does that. I'm sorry but that's a dick move. You can't tell me that that's not condescending. Do you honestly think he was being sincere when telling him "good game" HAHA! And the choking gesture was toward Kap and the whole Niner sideline.

And like I said, just because someone posts SOME of the interview, doesn't mean that somewhere else in the interview he admitted that he F'd up. Or that another point in another interview he's admitted he's F'd up. Because he has.

To be honest with you guys, I was done talking Niners and have been trying to talk Football. But when Hawk fans keep on posting anti-Niner posts, and me being the only Niner fan that has stuck around, I'm going to respond. Like I said before Hawk fans - quit acting like beating the Niners is the best accomplishment your franchise has ever had.

You make good points about Crabtree, I could move him to slightly above medicore but he just doesn't stand out to me. As far as last year, he was the only target Kaep had which is where the numbers come from IMO.

I won't get into an argument about Tate or Baldwin, their numbers don't match up to Crabtrees last year, they do look alot like his second year in the league which is where they both are. But I do know in a must have situation, I would trust Tate or Baldwin WAY more than Crabtree. He just hasn't proven to be able to make the big catch when everybody knows the ball is going to him. Both Tate and Baldwin do that regularly. The balls are split very evenly between the two of them.

    Tate in 2012 had 45 for 700 and 7 TDs, 2013 - 64 for 900 and 5.
    Baldwin (didn't start all the games) in 2012 had 30 for 400 and 3, 2013 - 58 for 800 and 5.

As for the bold, I'll say it again "THIS IS A TRASH TALKING FORUM" you guys are so fucking sensitive... You tell me. When I come to the trash talking forum as a Seahawks fan who should I trash talk? How about the teams we've beaten recently. Saints, 49ers. My team ended your teams season, that makes me giddy especially considering the elitist attitude you guys have had all year about your niners and what they were going to do when we met in the playoffs.

Yeah that's fair, this is the trash talking thread. I guess it's my nature when it comes to football.

With the SB coming up and you guys facing the Broncos, I would think that there would be more shit talking against them at this point. I mean, like you said, the Niners are out of the playoffs, and should be irrelevant at this point.

Nah, you'll notice I don't talk trash about the team next up on the schedule... typically. I don't like to piss off the football gods.

However, Denver also doesn't have a DB coach and QB. So, I really have nothing to say about Fox or Manning or their team in general.
