Mine was splashing, I even picked up some debris.. The deepest part at a tilt was up to the passenger mirror and over my hood.
    Lol, that's when I found out my hella's aren't water proof :(

Yeah, even looking back at Surprise Lake makes me cringe after this latest experience...I was stupid to have gone that deep w/o a Snorkel.

Like I said though, this whole thing has been a great lesson for me.

Dora v2.0 New & Improved with faster processors, better AI, larger I/O compatibility, and increased CPU load balancing! :D

Oh and FYI, snorkels were originally created to combat heavy dust in Australia... increased water protection was a side benefit, but isn't foolproof. Still gotta be wary!
I'm making it a future justification as relatively cheap insurance

Oh, I'm all about that as well... Naches is murder in the summer.

I want to do springs first. Let me know when you are bored and maybe we can hack up that spring pack of mine :p

Trooof! I have also heard that they are more effective way to gain MPGs, even moreso over CAIs.

2mpg gain for me! I know they are intended for dust but I got mine because of water... $350 to prevent $2k+ of hydrolocking fun (in my case it was more like $4k) is well worth it for me! I don't actively seek water but if I need to cross it I know I can.

After last weekends run I was worried about having some water in my rear diff... the rear 3rd has been leaking gear oil for a while now, nothing major just a few drips in the driveway now and then. Also had a bad axle seal so I got around to replacing it and resealing the 3rd. Turned out no water got in thankfully. My truck has 195,000 miles on the factory 3rd... the bearings and gears all seem to be in good condition still.

I have 3.73 gears with only 15K miles on them if you wanted to replace your high mileage set or have a backup. Let me know $100.

Got my taco fixed all fixed up. Shes pretty now. Still messin with 94 yota suspension. Did 63s in the rear and the old rear leafs up front. No more taco wheeling. It's all about the 94 when she is ready. Naches would be awesome and a good tahuya run in the very near future. And a few TFS runs this summer for those who are interested.

Also anyone in need of 8" rear end parts let me know. And other various items. I have a few. Mud flaps.. right rear fender well.. u bolts... ucas... shocks... headlight parts..

Just throwing this in here because I think it is good information and I found it helpful. Yes, a snorkel is on my mod list (has been for some time - just finding someone who will/can do it is a challenge and it is not cheap) and am looking at Spring to get it done. But there are things beyond a snorkel to consider when purposely doing a water crossing. Thought some others might find this useful - like I have - and a good follow as well...

    Part One...

    Stay safe & Happy Wheeling!!

Also - see a snorkel goup buy going on. I like the look of the Safari better but it takes a modification fit for the second gen taco. Airflow also makes a snorkel for our trucks.

I might be meeting up with Brady and his buddy to haul the Taco over to Anton's next weekend. Once I get the interior back together I was gonna set something up with those guys to get it planned.
