yeah seriously nate i was really surprised. i figure for a grand total of $5600 i might as well supercharge my truck. So if i can buy all the parts and do it myself.... and when i say myself i mean with the help of someone experienced in doing this sort of thing. then ill do it otherwise i will just put that money into something else. I really hope i get a good tax return.

 

it'll definitely be a time consuming job. will also need a couple of special tools and stuff (torque wrench, dial indicator, hydraulic press, etc)

I'm gonna lock my front at some point, but still unsure about the gears, I may just leave it stock.

 

im not too worried about how long it will take. im sure it will be like when i lifted my truck. couple long days of non stop work. at least i got my motorcycle if need be. If u lock ur front bra u should do em the same days i do mine, kill two birds with one stone

 

Why don't I bring mine too and we can kill 3.. Then again, we can setup a workshop model with ratha's help .. lol

Anybody try the Moonshine at Costco? I bought the blueberry flavor....Ho faka meeean bu!

 

Sucks compared to the real stuff

 

I couldnt imagine the real stuff....Costco 50% alcohol and 90 proof. The real stuff, most times 100% alcohol and 140 proof. But it still made me feel guud real quick.
The Costco stuff smells like rubbing alcohol. What does the real stuff smell and taste like? And I didn't spit the Costco stuff into a fire to see if the fire would jump like how the real stuff does .

 

I was raised in the Appalachian mountains, it doesn't get better than that. It doesn't have a taste really just burns, and a warm feeling that you can feel go all the way down to your stomach. smells like denatured alcohol. The closest thing I've found on the market to the real stuff is everclear 190 proof (95% alcohol). The area in North Carolina where they film the discovery channels moonshine shows is in my home Towns county. I can make some mean apple pie "moonshine" using everclear.

lol from lockers to moonshine, this thread is awesome.

Here is order invoice from East Coast Gear Supply.
The air locker is a differential in itself, it completely replace the factory diff. Our trucks Limited Slip system uses the brakes to stop or slow down the wheels with less traction. So installing the lockers did not effect LSD.

 

Because I had very little miles on my diff when I did the re-gear and lockers, I just reused all my bearings. WailuaTaco808 Depending on the millage of your truck, I suggest you look into replacing the diff carrier bearings and pinion bearings. There is 4 total for the rear diff.

 

hoo awesome thanks for getting a quote..see that price right there is more manageable. is that with parts/labor together??? I only have 25k on my truck as of now. Id still be interested in knocking it out if your down to supervise/show me (and whoever else was wanting to do it) how its done
