where did you get your rack for over the soft top? I'm hoping to do the same with the next couple of months

 

A local guy in Charleston(eddy @ SOS Concepts) did the rack for me. Took about a day, shorter if we weren't bs'ing every 5 minutes haha

The Chevy leafs gave me a serious amount of lift in the rear, The funny thing i only have half of it on at the moment

If this is what the other side will look like i’ll be happy. I only got like 90$ in the leafs from the junkyard.

thanks. yeah they feel pretty damn stiff on that side. tomorrow i can finish the other side hopefully. Going to a shop.

how hard was it to swap those leafs in?

 

It was just awkward because my truck was pinned against that pole and we had to work with.. It was also like 20 degrees outside and we'd been working for hours so i said fuck it and drove home with half of it done.

 

yeah the cold makes things a lot more difficult

 

It was one of those things you never want to do again. A nice heated shop is now on my list when i build my own home...

 

or you could just come to the best coast.....

Well i suppose its time for another update. Since i only had half the lift on in the rear i decided instead of going to a shop, to hit up another TW member in greenville in hopes of actually getting my truck back looking good again. So TheGoat generously allowed me to use his space and tools to get this done. Pics.





This part was soooo easy compared to last time, we didn't have nearly this much droop out of the axel last time and we literally grinder the nut off and the leaf pack separated over halfway done!




And she's back on the road lifted all around

Gonna take better pics later but this'll do.

Drivers side. i finally have a Rake again in the rear and thats with the bedrack and my RTT sitting on there, i can only imagine when it's not

Rides like butter to me. And the best part NO VIBES. I dropped the truck into 2L and ran it up to 3.5k RPM to see what vibes I would get and I got none

Thanks man she's coming along. Almost ready for my trip to Canada now, just gotta get some more camping stuff and some storage containers(Rubbermaid action packers) and whatever deals happen to pop up along the way. She rides sooo nice now.
