My TSB was taken care of at Mitchell Toyota Kia in San Angelo, Tx

I had some resistance at first but a call to Toyota support helped take care of it. They replaced the front and rear shocks along with the leaf springs. So far everything is ok no problems.

Got mine done at Frontier Toyota Valencia, CA.

A year ago they said it didn't exist for my truck. 2 weeks ago, no problem. lol. So I got it done and they replaced all shocks and struts, leafs and alignment. But the problem I just noticed is that the TSB replaces all shocks and struts on the Non TRD models only and mine is a TRD Sport DCLB 4x4. They put the Bilstein struts up front, brand new. However in the rear, they put Tokico shocks. Wtf ?

Isn't that for the prerunners only? Plus, is that shock that different from the yellow/blue Bilstein? Should I just keep my mouth shut and run with it or call them on their bs?

    Any help will be great.

The number on the shock is 48530-04020 (0805676)

Removed the price sticker in the window, bobbed 6" off the mudflaps, debadged. TSB completed.
Star Toyota just south of Houston. They turned me down the first time, then they changed their mind and did it.

    Too few to list.
They should not have replaced your shocks at all if you have TRD. It's weird that they paired up the stiffer TSB springs with the softer (than Bilstein)Tokico shocks. Does it ride like it did before the tsb?

And yes, the black shocks are the non-trd stock shocks.

I never spoke to the service manager, but the general service guys were a bit skeptical. They made me an appointment and said a tech would have to verify the problem. After I drop her off for service, four hours later I get a call that the leaf springs have been changed. I asked about the alignment, and after a little attitude from the service guy, he called back and said the alignment would be performed. Another three hours later I am driving her home a happy camper.

Yeah, they did pair up the Bilstein with the Tokico shocks in the rear. I didn't notice it at first until another friend of mine who got the TSB looked at it in depth and pointed it out to me. I recall reading and hearing how some people complained that the ride was too stiff and all I could think at the time was, "damn, my ride is really smooth" :D. So yeah, it does right a lot smoother.

I'm not even going to try to sort this out with the dealership because I can see them doing something else dumber than what can be predicted. I'll just wait a couple of months, get the 5100's and be done with it.

Thanks for your response and answer.:)

I just purchased a 2009 Tacoma that has a manufacturing date of 12/08. Can anyone tell me if a 2009 is included in this suspension TSB?

    Thanks

It's still a 2009... not included in the TSB yet. Some dealers have done it without any questions, though. Some people don't need (or want) the TSB done.

'09's should be added to the list in Sep time frame

Hmmm, where did you get the Sep time frame? If this is true, I might just wait until the TSB for 09's come out so that I don't have to deal with SA's saying no to this work.

Round Rock Toyota, Round Rock, Texas. They also seem to be Classic Toyota, the receipt has both. Talked to Scott Backus. I was refered to a different Scott by this site, but didn't realize there were two Scotts there. He was good. He wasn't aware that the TSB covered 08's yet, but he was willing to take the time and research it. Told him I lived 75 miles away and he made sure they had the parts in stock so they could do the TSB the same day they inspected it. I would recommend them, no problems at all.
