    I just wanted something simple that would allow me access to the bed for camping gear, something that would leave the tent tucked behind the cab so as to not kill my MPG's completely and allow me to still fit in my garage (7' door). If I had planned better I could have put it a couple of inches higher and have been able to stand/walk under the tent when open, as it sits right now the tent is level with my forehead.
    Its 1-1/4" square tube with 1-1/2" angle along the bed rails.

    On top of a custom rack over a 5x8 enclosed trailor, that I started building the inside for gear storage and kitchen area. I had a second zipper added for the trailor side door, so I can keep the large door closed for better temperature control and weather protection.

    Most tents have a track system that allows you a lot of flexibility when mounting it. That's why there are so many different types of set ups.

    this. If you make a rack that will fit the general size of the tent, you'll be fine. I've seen dude mount rtts on like 2 bed bars. It all works, just bolt that joker down and you'll be good to go.
