He flew off about 10 minutes after I took the picture

Cool. We've done the same with humming birds at our old place.

I had the sweet opportunity to rescue a wee red tailed hawk this summer that either fell, or got the boot from a sibling out of the nest. Called the local raptor rescue people and it worked out well. No way I was going to let the feral cat population get him.

 

Yeah , I am compelled to try to help them out as best I can , I helped out a couple hummingbirds last year too

We had 2 bald eagles in our yard a couple years ago that were locked together , talons to talons and wouldn't let go of each other , I found them at twilight laying in a ditch in our yard , the next morning one had flown off , the other was bleeding and sitting on the back of the bench in our yard , we called the local wildlife rescue and they came out , but the eagle flew up into a big cedar tree and they couldn't do much for him , he stayed perched in that tree all day and then finally flew off

 

Thanks guys. Killed the pump and drained the pressure tank. It was at 5psi. Filled it up to 38psi per the chart on the side. Figure I'll give it about an hour and see if it holds.
Previous owners left me the manual, few months left on the warranty. Unfortunately no receipt.
Hopefully it was just a slow leak/loss of pressure. Manual says it should be checked annually which I of course haven't done.

That's got to be an incredible sight. We see Bald Eagles when we're paddling all the time, but I can't imagine seeing that. Here's a picture of the wee hawk when the raptor rescue chick came out to pick him up. Her comment was, "you're just a little guy, I won't need my gloves". I told her he was as big as a pterodactyl last night!
