    Boost it. You'll be happy.

And I honestly doubt that there will be many people boosting while rock crawling in a Tacoma. Just not senseful toward the total investment of ths Tacoma. If one were to boost that scenario, it would be a full roll caged buggy for Time-Attack rock/hill climbing or King of the Hammers.

In the dunes.....boost the sh^t out of it. Regardless of type. And giggle like this kid.

yeah boost for the rocks would just make me more likely to break shit. I am generally pretty mellow on the throttle in the rocks and just rely on my gears and lockers to get me through stuff.

But in the sand... I need more powerz!!

    Worked on the re-valve today.
Before = (.012 straight compression stack/10,10,8,8,8 mixed rebound stack)
After = (.012 with an .008 flutter compression/.008 straight rebound.)

Re-valving in the winter sucks even though my garage is warm. I should have gone thru the car wash first to clean everything but oh well. Everything went fairly smooth with shock one. Got to shock two, got the piston out and set the body aside, two seconds later it tipped the fk over cuz of a wet floor and poor placement on my part, I lost a bunch of oil... I was raging because I didnt have more oil like I should have before I started. Oh well, I'll get some more and finish up this week. Remembered my dot of red loctite on the shaft nut :D

and yes that is an xwing fighter hanging from my shelf...

Wurd Dave! Really wish I wouldn't have spilt the perfectly good oil... ugh pain in the ass. More pissed that I can't get out and see how it feels tomorrow!

yea Tor, it was fun diggn around in there :D Fun touching it first hand and knowing how it all works! I knew before but once you actually touch it and see it up close you get it.

very easy* if you can do simple maintenance tasks and know your way around tools to get the job done when the normal tool doesnt work. Like today when I stripped the tiny set screw in the shock cap I knew I could pound in a star style bit just a tad bigger and get it out... It's just like big boy legos, haha.

*if you have some background knowledge with valving and how to stack shims to get the effect your after then yes it's easy haha. I don't exactly have the knowledge but i've been leaning on friends here to get it close and i'll just try and try again until it rides how I want it to... It's easy with the rear shocks cuz there's no coil to take off before I can get to the valves! Not looking forward to messing with my front coilovers...

haha! I'd be happy to since I love doing this stuff, you'd be much better off getting the advice and knowledge of someone like DSM/SDHQ.

ha, I have thought about a compressor (not the crappy impact wrench kind) cuz it would make life so much easier but then i realize id use it just a handful of times... Plus isnt ur dad going to not have any coils soon

What was the reasoning for doing a revalve?

Originally I had DSM/king do the valving the same as Tyler (Pelfreybilt) did cuz I thought our weights were similar but after driving it for a while I wanted to add a flutter to the comp cuz it was like a lumberwagon unloaded in winter mode with the tent and rack off. I talked with DSM and Jberry about a good setup to try and thus I decided to just get after it. It's easy/cheap enough I figured why not get it the way it should be for my weight. When the tent and rack go back on if it needs more comp i'll just add more... easy enough. Idk yea its a bit of work but it's worth it to ride like butta. Also since im SOA I want to make sure my axle drops out enough when going fast so I can use all of the limited uptravel SOA allows me, hence the straight 8 stack on rebound. We'll see how it goes...

ya, thanks man! The task of swapping valves is easy(at least I think so), but there's so many flippn combinations you could run that it makes ur head spin trying to get it right the first time...
