Pay the DOJ and provide 2 or 3 samples for testing.
The drop test used to be the only requirement.
They then added that it has to have either a loaded chamber indicator or a magazine disconnect (gun can't fire without a mag inserted).
The LCI was easy on external extractors, just paint the side of the extractor red.
Couple of years ago, the requirement was changed that they they require BOTH the LCI and the mag disconnect.

Now, it is required that, for semi-autos, the casing be imprinted with a microstamped ID upon firing. Nobody is going to put that technology into a handgun.

Guns that are currently on the roster are still good as long as the manufacturers pay to maintain the listing every couple of years.

    Question for you gun nuts.

I have a Glock 19 Gen 4. I have found that my hands fit it fairly well, but I always feel like I am somewhat reaching for the trigger with my trigger finger. I can get a decent grip/pull on it, but feel that it does not wrap around the trigger as it should....

Having said that, is there some type of modification or aftermarket fix that can be used to get the trigger to sit say idk 2 millimeters or so back???

What do you mean wrap around the trigger as it should? I used to shoot like that and I couldn't hit a 9 inch metal target at 30 feet. Some researching, using only the tip of my finger to pull the trigger, not letting the trigger fully reset in between shots and doing some studying of this

I am shooting much better now.

You probably can't adjust the trigger but does your gun have removable back straps for the grip?

Mine doesn't but my hand fits it perfect.

Trade it in for a single stack that fits you better, like a 1911 or something like the M&P that has interchangeable grips.

I'm pretty sure Gen 4 Glocks also have interchangeable backstraps

Yes, but they are fat. If you have midget digits it's tough to get a proper trigger squeeze. I'm a fockin wookie and can't shoot the Gen 4 for shit, it's just too chubby for me. I'm not saying anything derogatory about the weapon, it's just not for me. Maybe the other dude should consider swapping it for something more ergonomic for him.

Wow, never that. And I'm going to assume that with the micro stamping would be someway to get back to whoever purchased the gun/ current owner. But with all the thieves out there, who's to say it wasn't stolen and a crime committed...

Part of the problem with the law.

Most guns used in crimes were not purchased legally, so correct... any identification won't lead the police to the criminal. Best case, it leads them to the person the gun was stolen from.

Another problem, is similar to the colors required on toy guns...
There are millions of legal toy guns that are not brightly colored, and there are millions of legal guns that will not microstamp the casing.
Now, after a shooting, the police not only need to recover any casings and identify caliber, but they also need to process them all (could be multiple shooters) through microscopic inspection to determine IF there is a microstamp, and if so, record the information.

Firing pins can be changed. Firing pins can be filed.
While I'm sure the law prohibits modification of the gun to remove the microstamping in the same manner that it is illegal to alter or remove the serial number, criminals still use guns with removed serial numbers... they are criminals. Breaking the law is what they do.

Exactly. They are not going to do it by the book and if they can get around it, they will. As far as a chamber indicator is that just the small hole on top of the slide that I can see a chambered round in? Or is it something different?

Yes. A loaded chamber indicator can be many things. Some use a peep hole, some use a raised red flag that is pushed. Design varies by manufacturer and model.

Dons solid guide rod and wolff 18lbs spring.Since it's colder then a witches tit, I decided to polish the rod and barrel. Those barrels are a huge pain in the ass to sand. That crap just does not want to come off.
