I'm not running any additional fuses . The tail lights are already fused and these leds don't draw much more current .
It wouldn't hurt to add one I guess , if you were to add one Id put it in series with the 12v going to the LEDs.

    Those look good also.

But I think I will to the led strips just because with only those two lights it would be easy to have stuff in the way of them. With the leds the light is everywhere.

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense. Did you tap into the 12 volts on the taillights? I was considering just running a wire to the ACC on the fusebox and since thats fused as well i dont see why i would need to add a fuse. But they only cost like 2-3 bucks so i may do it anyway for piece of mind. I ordered the same roll you got but the 600 leds. Gonna be ignorant bright i guess lol

excuse my ignorance im new here. But i see you have doors on your storage compartments in the rear of the bed. Are those doors on there standard or did you order them from dealer? Cuz i just noticed my truck has none of those doors

This is true.. i now carry my spare in the bed and it blocks one light usually. i will be adding 2-4 more of them in the bed. i want one inside the tool box and one on the tool box facing the tailgate.

yes those are on the trucks from the factory.

Looks good! This is how mine look. I ran a fused hot wire off the battery, so I can use them whenever.

I just ordered this switch to do the bed light mod. Not great with wiring. Anybody care to give me insight on how to wire it? i plan on stealing 12 volts from the taillight so the switches led ring will light up when headlights are on. I figure this way the led ring will only light up when headlights are on meaning its probaly dark out. Any help would be great. Also since im tapping into taillights and thats probaly fused would i still need a 1amp in line fuse? thank you so much for any help

I wouldn't take power from the taillight, just because then you have to have your headlights on to have your bed lights on. I ran a single fused wire off the battery. Ran it along the frame up into the taillight housing. I used a bolt right there in the housing for my ground. Now its completely independent. No key, no other lights.

thats not a bad idea. i was trying to save work but running it to the batter would probaly be best. Problem is i dont understand the actual switch itself. Ive only wired switches with 3 pins. This has 6, so thats where my real question is. Any help with that one?

i ran a simple 2 prong switch for mine, one to the + on the lights, the other along the frame to the battery. having a tonneau i didn't run a weatherproof switch, but upgrading it sooner or later.

Unfortunately no. I don't do well with electronics either. Are there no instructions with the switch?

I dont have to have my headlights on, just the parking lights, Which I dont mind .

Way to much effort for me to run the power all the way up for a mod ill use so seldom .

Best bet would be to use a OHM meter and ring it out, my switch was a 3 prong but I only used 2 since I didnt want it to light up.

    No sir no instructions.

Thats what i was thinking. If im gonna use the lights in the bed chances are that means its dark outside and my headlights will be on anyway. i have an ohm meter and im not new to wiring. Just never wired a 6 prong switch. I plan to mount it inside the storage door next to the 110v plug in the bed. I cant mount it where you did because my bed extender brackets are there. Maybe once i get the mod going ill do a write up in case others want to use the same switch.
On another side note, and i apologize for changing the subject, my bedliner has some paint and scratches and fading.(guy who owned truck before me must have been a painter. Ive considered pulling the plastic liner out and either plasti-dipping it black or just finding a black paint for plastic. I am doing this strictly for cosmetic reasons. Any thoughts on this and is there a thread on bedliner removal? im having trouble finding one

I could, Im open to any suggestions, as the only reason im doing it is numberous ugly scratches (which i expect in time as it is a truck) , white paint on sides and plastics are so faded its ugly. Id love to just recoat it with something for cheap to just give it a newer look. i thought i read the herculiner doesnt stick to the plastic liners we have well. Do you have expierence with it?
