I like how these threads turn into 4x4 vs 2wd, and the pissing contest becomes 4x4 guys must be compensating for tiny dicks, where as the 2wd guys just have vaginas.

2wd because I only paid $250 for the truck. Couldn't pass it up. Next truck will have 4wd, and I'll still use Stonewall as my DD.

I had a 2002 Prerunner with the off-road with the diff lock

I thought this was a 2nd Gen thread

Does the 2014 Prerunner come in an off-road package with a diff lock ?

I looked everywhere for a Prerunner Off-road when I bought my 2011 and was told it isn't an e-locker but uses the brakes to limit wheel spin

What year models has the electronic rear differential locker? Not Auto LSD

Auto LSD is what I have and I don't think much of it

How is it possible that I've driven 2wd trucks since 1988 and before that 2wd cars starting in 1978 in WI, then IA, then CO since 1997, without ever needing 4wd.

I haven't bought the hype that if you ever need 4wd once it paid for itself. I haven't needed it once. Saved myself a lot on initial cost $19,700 brand new, and on gas, 30 mpg over 70K. 6" of snow in the last few days did nothing to stop me.

Everyone has different needs. There is no way I would take a 5-lug in the back country during hunting season.

4x4 but only because I travel into the mountains and might need to go down trails to rescue dirt bikes in the summer.

When I started this, I was just curious since here in Vermont, a 2wd pickup is a rarity, primarily due to the hills and snow. I was curious to see how it was in other parts of the country.
