Well this just squashes my plan to get a Aries brush guard Anywhere here on the forum showing "more damage" done by bars and guards? I really like the plate bumpers but I don't have $1k+ to throw at one.

 

I had a bull bar (Smittybilt) and just had a front end collision..it didn't multiply the damage, but it wasn't a direct hit to the bar either(the bar bent slightly though). Do not waste your money on one. Get the Avid offroad one, nothing, or plate bumper

 

nix on the bull bar...too old school.if you're trying to mount lights,there are better options,had mine (aries,black) on the truck since 2010...it'll stay till it rots off,then i'll go with a nice discrete lightbar.

 

Update to earlier post, just looked at truck more, it was a damage multiplier, I really don't recommend getting one. Get a discrete light bar if you would like lights or the avid bar

My buddies and I refer to these as Basket Bars...because if you are really lucky you can push a shopping cart out of the way without damaging that little piece of tin!

 

Replacement plate bumper. No other option.

 

Whats the damage? Pics? When i got my truck i wanted a bullbar/brush guard. Spent 30min on this site and it changed my mind.

I have been rocking the DeeZee Black Bull Bar for a while now and bought it off of Amazon for about $160



Buuuuuuut..... Will be replacing this with a plate bumper or hybrid bumper in the next 6 months haven't decided which one yet!

 

Those big lights up front & hood scoop remind me of a good friend. Her's are aftermarket & fake but I like 'em

No.... You can do this. Bullbars just make your truck look like it has a underbite.

I had the bull bar that Toyota offers as an option when I first bought the truck.....I took the lower grill off of it though. Later I hit a deer. Cracked the plastic bumper cover and the bull bar pushed into the plastic causing some paint to come off, along with cracks. Now I have an ARB bumper (in my sig pic).
