I am tired of seeing these threads. Bunch of bullshit and ruckus in here. I mineswell add to it. Go tell Toyota your story of your decision to buy something else because a Toyota didn't suit your desires, they'd care even less than we do.

Enjoy the new truck. What matters is you are satisfied with your purchase.

I'm gonna join a Ford Forum and tell them why I bought a Tacoma. Makes sense to me!

Lol and say "Hey guys, thought I'd just share while stopping by, I went by the Ford lot a couple times and saw some F150's. They were fullsize trucks and too big for me. I parked my Tacoma right next to them and really saw how large the fullsize is in comparison to the Tacoma, too big in fact. You guys should really look into Toyotas as they are quality vehicles, and Toyota has really kept up with their standards more or less. I decided to stick with the Tacoma. I know you Ford forum residents are going to give me flak, but I thought you'd like to hear my story."

Lol sorry I posted this like a d-bag but I just wanted to make light of things.

Speaking from experience with a new f150. I had one... It was nice, couldn't turn for shit, sucked gas quicker than mary jane rotten crotch sucked balls through a water hose, was way too big to get in some places, leather seats... more like pleather that was fading and seams tearing after a month. Towing capability, nothing could touch it. That was the plus, 13,000 lb trailer behind and it pulled like nothing was there. Audio was great but again not worth the 42.5 price for it ( and that was a deal). Cruising around felt like a Cadillac, hit a bump and make an appointment with a dentist, chiropractor, and vision center.

The tacoma: Smooth riding even on the bumps, fuel economy I was looking for around 17-18 city, 20-22 if I've got a cross wind on the interstate. Towing, a lot less than the f150 but honestly in all my life I pulled one trailer that I needed the f150. Most towing mine sees is two jetskis, and a four wheeler or UTV if I have to be nice. Audio sucked but there is a cheap fix for that and way less than 42.5 K. Interior it is nice for cloth but still less than 6-700.00 can upgrade to leather. Ability to maneuver the Tacoma. Great and fits almost everywhere. Well used to. (6" lift). Total price of the Tacoma before the mods, 17.5k out the door Granted used but well taken care of.

your 01 POS sounds like mine. Spent $3k before 95k miles and did some work myself. Used QT oil every 1500 miles from day I drove off lot. Spit a spark plug on Xmas eve and that was last straw. 5.4 motor was worst I have had. On my second Tacoma after nothing but Fords for 30 years.

Drove a 2011 F150 for a few days as a rental. Imagine getting greeted by a Ford commercial every time you start the truck:

The built-in inclinometer and 4WD display is interesting, even though the truck was 4x2. :p

Consumer Reports just said the Tacoma is one of the 5 worst new vehicles you can buy... who gives a shit what CR says?

Needs, preference, and deal. Toyota isn't always going to come out on top in that equation. GL OP.

Don't worry. Toyota will catch up with that technology in about ten years, on the fully loaded tacoma only. Then get ready for the, "How to put the 2025 entune dash into my SR5". :p

You don't see WickedWeasel models posing next to F150s. Another reason not to get an F150.
