Just saying; A guy I work with just bought a 12' Ford Focus for his wife in early 2013. Within 2 months the entire electrical system went out of it and had to be completely re-wired with a new computer under warranty.

Another guy I work with bought an F-150 Ecoboost FX4 fully loaded a little over a year ago, and he complains about sluggishness or loss of power when he really steps on it hard to pass someone. It doesn't happen all the time but has happened 4 or 5 times, and he's getting no help from Ford.

I'm not sure how people can say Ford has made great strides and increased their reliability in recent years. How could you know if their reliability on newer vehicles has really improved? Only time will tell when they start getting 100,000+ miles and 8+ years of service on some of these newer models.

4 of my friends have f150s from 2000-2003. Both lightning's have blown plugs out and had to be rethreaded. And the 2000 had them strip out when he was doing the spark plugs.

My buddy with the 2003 does not know crap about cars. I keep telling him if it needs spark plugs to just trade it in. His old truck he thought was so sweet had a 3'' body lift and 35s (2000 chevy Silverado). Had a clunking noise and ended up the upper shock mount had ripped off taking a huge chuck of frame with it.:D

I had joined a Jeep forum before buying my Tacoma, as I had considered purchasing one. Same with a Ford Ranger forum. Know what I didnt do after buying my Tacoma? Go back to those forums and tell them I bought a Tacoma, because I realized they probably didnt give a shit..

I've actually had two mustang GTs both of them manuals. A sports car is not a sports car without a manual trans. And you just can't deny the mustang, there's just something visceral about them. The only manual I currently have is my 93 300zx twin turbo. It satisfies my need to go fast and act stupid about once a week.

Good choise OP. I also have a new F150, same setup as my tacoma, reg cab 4x4 but it's a lot more comfortable, powerful and better on fuel with 2x the engine.

Lol please elaborate on better with fuel. I have seen the real mileage of full size trucks they get no better than they used to. Its all overblown by the EPA so they can be competitive. I'll tell you this though I have gotten 22 mpg as my best mpg and no full size truck can get that exceptma diesel.

I'll speak up with this one. I went from a regular cab 4x4 '06 Tacoma to a 2013 F-350 crew cab short bed diesel. I never saw 20+ mpg with the Tacoma no matter how I babied it. The 350, a 6,000lbs of additional truck, has on long road highway road trips at 65-70 mph.

I went from a DCSB V6 4x4 Tacoma to basically the same thing in F150, supercrew, 4x4 short bed with the 5.0L V8. Same mixed driving commute, the Tacoma was getting just over 18 MPG in the winter, just under 20 MPG in the summer compared to the F150 getting 18 MPG in the winter and I have yet to see what it does in the summer. The F150 will smoke the Tacoma on the highway in the MPG department. My Tacoma dropped to about 17.5 MPG on 65 MPH highways (cruise set at about 70-72 MPH), the F150 pushes up close to 19 MPG at that same speeds.

If I HAD to change I'd drive a Ram over an F150 any day. GL with your 2014 F150 goals

I would definitely go F150 over the Ram any day. Driven both for an extended period of time while my Taco was getting bodywork done from a wreck. F150 felt much better and more solid.

Yep you've never heard them sing about this in country songs?
