I love the endurance races. Did a 24 hour about 4 years ago. was in slightly better shape back then though. i didn't train for this one, and ended up turning pretty decent lap times, but wouldn't even get near a 24 hour race without a couple months of training.

the night time laps are my favorite :D

Very nice! I just threw a Reverb Stealth on mind today. It is now perfect. Also making the leap to clipless. I might be a little nervous.

Taiwanese frame manufacturers are some of the best and most consistent builders in the world-there are like one or two who build for almost everyone these days.

Don't most do that? Trek does because their process is "unique".

As far as carbon goes out sourcing is the only way the bike companies can make carbon frames period. The money it cost for the ovens to cook the carbon is substantial. From what I hear Taiwan has been making carbon for decades and are damn good at it.

Im going to run an internal routed KS lev 150mm.

Clipless is the only way to ride mounain bikes, way more control, 30% more power to your cranks. Just as easy if not easier to unclip than five tens and good flats.

Every single carbon mtb frame is made over seas. It would cost us shreders literally twice the price to buy a frame if they are made in the usa.
They are usa designed and engineered.. It could be worse

    Bingo

Intense only makes aluminum frames in usa, their carbon frames are all taiwanese made

But you did buy American. Santa Cruz is an American company and they support the economy over the hill both designing and building bikes in the city of Santa Cruz-just built a nice new office too. And you bought your bike from an American bicycle shop.

Bikes have parts from all over. Japan, USA, Taiwan, and so on.

    Yes, I sold my '13 Taco. :'(
Nothing wrong with Taiwanese produced carbon frames or supporting the American mtb companies who outsource production there. Its a means of adjusting to the domestic economy. I'm sure ALL of the American MTB companies would love to produce their frames in house but it's simply a factor of cost.

This is why Enve USA made carbon wheels cost ungodly amounts of money. The price they can pretty much dictate since the market for domestically produced carbon wheels is tiny and competition is non existent....and boy they sure are proud of their "Made in USA" stickers. ;)

Shimano drive train components which are industry standard in the MTB world are proudly made in Japan....and I wouldn't have it any other way to be honest.
