The only thing I could really sell are the front and rear 5100s. :(

    The wheel spacers, too.

Thats a nice think your doing...and I agree on the insurance. Mine was outrageous before my truck with an old 98 corolla. with what you save on the insurance you can put into a separate account for your new truck and just start saving as much as you can every few months. Thats what I would do in your shoes.

Derek-you really are a very special young man. Not many guys your age would be thinking of their family first. Obviously your parents did a terrific job raising you. No matter what you do, you better stick around on TW!

I admire you for what you're proposing.

Just to warn you, though, the cash for clunkers deal only works if you buy a new car to replace the clunker. If you're hoping to get $3,500 to $4,500 out of the Nissan truck, then use that to buy a used car, it won't happen.

The thing you were saying about the Yaris or the Versa would work, though. Those aren't a whole lot brand new, and if you take $3,500 to $4,500 off, they become even cheaper.

    Good luck to you.

Oh I know, the cash would go towards the trade-in. But if we decide on my plan, we would sell privately. :)
