Haha it was just because I was losing strength and needed to get back up to benching 285 so I wouldn't feel like a piece of shit on my cut. Now that my strength numbers are where I want them, I'm continuing on with my cut. I bulk for size, too, but I've never lost strength on a cut before, so I had to get my shit back right lol.

I have to start my cut early b/c Spring Break is in March:cool:

Strength or energy? If you keto, you'll lose energy and not feel like lifting weight which you actually know you can.

Yeah, I factored that in and decided to max out on my carb load and struggled to get 265. I then fell in to a dark, deep depression and didn't want to lift anymore, so I decided to take the rest of Jan to give myself a break and focused on getting back up to 285. After I got that, I showed myself that I still had it in me and decided it was time to continue on with the cut. By far, the darkest moment of my life....

Are you now cutting the same way? Or carb cycling so you don't lose the energy? And how much fat is in your cut?

156lbs 10%bf - Im 9 weeks out with my comp.. Anytime you start to cut and put your body in a calorie deficit you're going to lose strength.. Just the name of the game :\

Sticking with the keto b/c it's been working. I'm still gonna carb load on Fri afternoon, through Saturday night. I upped my calories from 2500 to 2650 this time to kinda slowly cut and preserve more muscle.

    2650 cals: 200 g protein/15 g carbs/220 f fat

Like I said, keto works like a charm, it just freaked me out that I lost THAT much strength. Now, I know I'm gonna lose the strength, but I'm still transitioning to the mindset that my goal is now to get shredded, not to get big. I hate cutting! It's always worth it in the end, though.

haha yeah, that mental transition from bulking to cutting is a bitch. I'm in 100% now that I had my mental breakdown lol. I was flexing in my bathroom mirror and just thinking, "that's it....I'll never be big....must continue bulking!"

yep....my last bearded photo was right after Christmas....I was the first one out of the contest this year. Everyone else shaved the day after I did, except for my friend Joey, who is trying to go a full year.
