I was told be San Bernardino Sheriff that running lights is ok, or having a siren is ok, but both at the same time is a no no. That could have been while I was in the desert only, not sure though, but blue and red lights I think is always a no no.

 

In Idaho having blue lights on your vehicle is illegal as hell, but all other colors are ok. Not sure about having any of them flash (besides the blinkers of course).

I roll around like this with no issues, when my headlights are on the green is much less visible but still very noticeable.

 

In my area red and blue are definitely a no no. Other non standard colors may get you in trouble depending on who sees you.

That's pretty sweet! Mine are just green LED bulbs that I swapped in place of the amber corner bulbs, in the red circle


This does mean they are always on with the headlights, but since they are legal in my area it's not an issue.
