What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Found a trail today after work

 

Pull the plugs and smell which one smells like fuel would be my guess.

 

Who do you guys recommend going through to order a blistein 5100 set up?

Good to know that my truck had probably been running on like 3 cylinders for the past who knows how long. I changed my spark plugs last week, Ive owned the truck for almost 4 years and just now changed them, but the guy that had it before me only changed the 3 plugs under the coil packs. other 3 under the intake were densos, the same brand as the coil packs, which makes me think they have never been changed.

 

Anybody ever leave their Ultra Gauge in the truck when the temp is supposed to drop down to -20° F ?
Am I the only one who ran the cable behind the dash panel making it a pita to remove on said cold night?

why the price discrepancy between the 98-00 and 01-04?

 

Was the plugs under the coil packs NGK by any chance? Those may be the stock original plugs. From the factory i believe one bank of plugs come with NGK plugs and the other side densos.

 

How did you run the cable behind the dash?

 

The lower dash panel under the steering column. I fed the cable between that panel and the column to keep it out of the way. Thought we were done with the really cold weather...

Yes.

 

Mine has never left my truck since installing it. Which includes serveral nights that were colder than -20, probably closer to 30 below. Did is say something about not letting it get that cold?

I was laughing reading an intake temp of -25 once.

 

Oh that makes sense now. I have mine behind the inspection and registration stickers and was wondering how to get the wire behind the dash...haha

 

Ive been thinking about how to run it between the dash and windshield fished one wire through there but I dunno about the UG

 

Here's where I mounted mine:



You can see the wire running off to the side, and then down the door weather stripping, then ending up under the dash.

If you did mount it on the steering coloum, I imagine you could remove the lower dash panel and just run the wire between the top of that and the bottom on the main panel.

 

Yeah the specs on the thing state operating temp of 0°F to 160°F and a storage temp of -20°F to 160°F or it voids the warranty.
If you get that cold with yours I'll just leave it. It won't be that cold for long.
