Need placement advice

Ok so I have been looking around online at p.a. systems so I can hook up my cb radio to an external speaker. I have the cobra 18 wxstii and after a little looking around, I found this http://cobra.com/products/cb-radio-accessories/hg-s100-extension-speaker

My question is where would be a good place to put it in the engine compartment?

you have a few places in your truck you can put it. try the passenger side corner...closest to the firewall. should be room there.

edit......after looking at link.....are you sure thats not a speaker to just use so its louder than the stock speaker in the cb itself?? if it is....you need a loud speaker for mounting under your hood.

The speaker in your link is not for a PA system. It is for inside the cab for people who need a louder speaker to hear cb transmissions.

Make sure you search for a PA Speaker.

I wasn't quite sure if that link I had posted was for what I wanted but oh well. I did find some marine speakers on www.wearecb.com and those were pretty helpful, but they are out of stock for the wire connection I guess I just have to be patient. Thanks for the responses btw

 

I got my PA from a CB store for twenty dollars. It's like wiring a speaker, just + and -. Pull new wires from the PA and run them through the firewall (I go through the grommet by the steering column) and fit them in with butt connectors or crimp-on wire nuts. You don't need to hold out for special connectors. Putting an EXT speaker under your hood is going to play talkback outside of your car, then you won't be able to hear it IN the cab. Thus, people who actually know a little bit about CB radios are going to laugh at you until you cry.
