That's a crazy story, glad it work out for you as well.

Thanks guys! I definitely would have been pissed and he would be getting a lot of calls from a certain sexually preference male community if he didn't come clean.

I don't mind people reselling stuff for the most part as long as they don't swindle you on the price in the first place. If the paid your full price, then they are taking a risk trying to resell and you got what you were asking. I've sold things I've gotten on craigslist for more later on, but most of the time it's because it doesn't serve a purpose anymore. This guy just pretty much stole the rims from me IMO.

Glad it worked out for you! I've sold a few cars on craigslist. The first time I let em test drive and thought they were gone. Learned that lesson the easy way.

If its any consolation, the other Duratrac's and rims you sold are enjoying their new home :D. I just found a single fj wheel and 285 tire on CL yesterday. Now I've got a full size spare on a matching rim! Do you remember what kind of paint you used (including red for Toyota emblem)?

A whole car would scare the crap out of me. My coworker doesn't let anyone drive the car unless he has cash in hand.

Glad they are working out for you! I do regret selling them as I really liked that combo, but I'll be getting the tires I've always wanted tomorrow, so it will be all good. Thats a sweet find on the single rim/tire. I'm hoping to find a 5th for my Tundra/Sequoia rims, but they are harder to find.

I used Duplicolor engine enamel in semi gloss black for the wheels and the emblem was Duplicolor Ford Toreador Red.

Nice, thanks. I already have that engine enamel and I'll pick up the red soon. I thought I would eventually paint the yota' emblem a different color, but the red has really grown on me.

What kinda tires are you getting? I'll keep my eye out for a matching spare. Its the split spoke, right?

Me too. Especially when I saw a "2 Investigates" story on KTVU

That dude screwed people hard. There's a lot more to the story than what's in the public purview as it relates to his customers and others.

I probably learned more about the legal system than I cared. Mostly that even though laws are broken, they aren't interested until there's real money. And when they do eventually get involved, the 'people' they are supposedly representing have no real say in how the process goes-as long as they get theirs-had I known with enough notice what was going to happen, I would have written the judge...

Anyway, I didn't get screwed as badly as some of the other peeps did. It was a rude introduction to the legal system and shattered what little faith I had in the car business. One thing though; the DMV-the agency we love to hate-absolutely came through with their investigation and for that, I am truly grateful.

Yeah I really liked the red and will be doing it on my new wheels. It is the split spoke 17's that I got. I'm picking up 33" Hankook Dynapro MT's. They are very unpractical but I've always loved the tire and gotten great reviews by everyone.

    ...too much shit to list.
I can wheel anytime. Can only snowboard a few months out of the year. I've only been up 11 times this year so far due to such a shitty start.

So I've been at a friend of a friends cabin the last couple days. Did my first snowboarding at an Arizona resort. We've actually got a semi decent amount of powder today but tree runs and natural terrains pretty damn hard to find. Still fun though.

San Diego is my favorite area in the U.S. that i've lived so far. I would love to bring this weather back up with me. But i need snow in the mountains on which I want to ski.

I lived on Coronado for almost four months. I can tell you that was one of the best places I've lived.
