    was an upgrade option for sr5 non trd.
    TRD has it in the package to include buckets.

    TRD = Buckets

    SR5 = optional upgrade package for buckets.

    My extended cab 2000 SR5 TRD 3.4 has buckets and console. Good to know the 4Runner sport seats swap right in as these buckets are not too comfy.

    My truck is an sr5 and I have the 60/40 seats as well.

    I've heard that the mounts are exactly the same as for the bucket seats and console . . . So if you can find them they should bolt right in. I guess the bench seat mounts aren't quite the same though . . .

    I had a 1988 xtra cab that I owned for 23 years. Then it was stolen in 2012. It had the 60/40 seats with a fold down armrest. There was no provision for storage in the arm rest. If you lifted up the armrest then a third person could sit there legally as there was a third seat belt. I actually had a third person sit there a few times. People could not legally be in the back because back then there were no rear seat belts in 1988. The rear seat belts did not start until the Tacoma came out.

    The 1988 was replaced with a 2001 SR5 xtra cab 2WD. I tried them with buckets and with the 60/40, but I did not notice any comfort difference. I decided to go with with what I had in the 1988. So the 2001 has the 60/40 seats with the third seat belt, as seldom or as unlikely as it would ever get used. The armrest is a better design than the 1988 because you can store small stuff in it. The 2001 of course has rear seat belts so the truck can legally carry 5 people. Ha ha.

    so who has the 4cyl with 60/40 and who has the 6cyl with buckets?

    saw a lot of you with bench have the 4 and buckets seemed to be more prevalent on the 6 (no-TRD or SR5 bucket option)

    of course they could have just been cleaning house on seats in stock and not even worrying about the package. they would have known a new model was coming out a few years before the last 04 taco ran off the assembly :notsure:

    The '04 PreRunner V6 (auto, power everything, XtraCab, non-TRD, 2WD) I'm picking up this week has the 60/40.

    Doesn't really seem to be much rhyme or reason to it.

    My 96 has 60/40 with fold down arm rest, power everything, manual trans. It is not TRD and I don't think it's SR5; no way of knowing that I am aware of.

    I also have an SR5 with a 60/40.. Well it HAD a 60/40. I recently put in a bucket seat & console. I hated the bench seats.
