Hi folks,

I want to get in on the OME game, but I have a few questions first. I've tried my best researching, but want clarification.

I have a 4x4 double cab short bed with Bilstein 5100s in the front and rear. My fronts are set at 1.75" and I still have the stock three leaf pack in the rear.

So...

I'd like to bump up the overall lift of my truck. Can I go with 884s (with Billies re-set to 0) and throw a 2" add-a-leaf in the rear? I'm slightly nose-up, but it's not very noticeable. I've been looking at Wheeler's Off Road website and saw these:

OME 884: Add-A-Leafs: I've 265/75/16 Duratracs mounted on 16x8 Konig Countersteer Offroads. I don't need UCAs right?

Thanks everybody!

Your alignment should still be good with the 884's though you might want to get the carrier bearing drop to compensate for the AAL or just wait to see if you have vibes.

My one concern is the valving on the billies working well with the spring rate of the 884s. I'd get some professional assistance with that, but it might not even be a consideration :notsure:

Lots of people use 885's with the 5100's and being one that does, it's a little on the stiffer side compared to 885's and Nitrochargers but doesn't bother me much as my daily driver has a much stiffer ride than my truck. The 884's will be fine.

Agreed. I previously ran 884s with 5100s and stock UCA. Ride was great and numbers were in spec.

Pardon my n00b question (which I'm sure is always asked), but what are the differences between 884 and 885s?

This. And here is the breakdown from the first post

Spring name/Spring rate (N/mm)/Bar dia/Coil length (mm)

OME 883 / 103 / 17 / 375
OME 884 / 103 / 17 / 385
OME 885 / 103 / 17 / 395
OME 886 / 115 / 18 / 402

103 = 588 #/in
115 = 656 #/in

Basically a difference in length of 10 mm

What he said but 884's can be used for DC and get about 2" of lift instead of the 2.5" with 885's. 885's are longer.
