Some of this Some of that
Running with one small tire and a 33 for an extended period of time like more than getting home will damage your rear diff, and wear out the spiders.. Get a worn out 33 off cl or somewhere for cheap

you have absolutely got to be shitting me

are you serious? Like really serious? or are you just a bad troll.

first off, what are you, too good to change a tire? second, if you are in the middle of no where how is it also a busy road?

fathers teach their 16 year old daughters to change a spare tire, i suggest you go back to your parents and have them do the same

if you get a flat, take one front off and put on rear, spare on front, obviously no 4 wheel drive, solves your spider gear problem...

you want to run without a spare, fine, some places you can't get cell reception, whatya gonna do then?

To answer the original question - yes when running a high clearance bumper switch to carrying the spare somewhere else - like in the bed. Under the bed tends to be inaccessible on the trail anyway.

Closer size match is better, but a tire is a tire... One particular day I lent my 32" spare to a guy who had his second flat of the day - and he was running 35" tires. He drove home the rest of the trail and then 100 miles on pavement and that seemed to work out OK.

It's better than a 28"! I would run one of those just to get off a trail home. I wouldn't run a 28" unless you want to drive very slow. The amount of excess heat in your spider gears would be crazy.

Swap your donut to the front if you get a flat in the rear. Axle disconnect, problem solved.

Get a in bed tire carrier. I went with the n fab that mounts into the bed rails. Looks good and serves it's function. Don't b caught without a spare bro.

SOS concepts makes an In-bed tire rack/ hi lift rack. Looks to be a good setup in my opinion

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
This is the best solution, even in passenger cars that have donuts for a spare. I always put the spare on the axle that is not driven, I put donuts on the front for rear wheel drive car, on the rear for front wheel drive. All wheel drive needs correct size spare to keep from destroying rear or center diff.
