I recently had a one piece drive shaft made by a local shop because of my take off vibes. I really thought it would cure it being that it does for 90% of them that get one made. Well, it didn't for mine. I havent tried changing the angle with shims yet, should I? Has anyone else had this happen, and if so, what did you do to fix it if there is a fix? Mine is stock height off road model with the 2+1 leaf pack ( helpers installed ). Thanks

    Not enough
Torque your u-bolts to somewhere between 70-90 ft lbs (there is some question as to exact torque but this range may help)

Got an angle meter ? you need to be less than 3 degrees in total in order for your universal joints to cancel each other out and eliminate the vibe .
Did you have the driveshaft made to what others have said works ?
Is the issue worse than before you went with a single driveshaft ?
There are a lot of variables here .
Sounds as if you had such a bad vibration , you went out and purchased a new driveshaft ? Need more info
Is the front end also modified from factory ? Lifted at all ?
Hows your rims and rubber ? were the tires road force balanced ?
I would start by cancelling angles using shims .

No lift on the front or rear, rims and tires are in great shape and balanced. The vibes are better then they were with the 2 piece but still there. I had the shaft built just like tom woods sells them. I guess I need to get an angle meter and check it. Right now there are no shims at all. How do I check the angle once I get a meter? Thanks

I'm also gonna tourqe the u bolts to see if that helps.

Maybe these traction bars help, I don't know. I saw some discussion about them recently. https://www.budbuilt.com/components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/product/Traction Bars.PNG

I've read in the past that just the outboard mounted shocks like the Tacoma has contribute to axle wrap, which may in turn contribute to the vibration under hard acceleration.

There's one thing I DO KNOW. After I put the Timbren bumpstops on this truck, the vibe I had at 18-22 MPH decreased noticeably, noticed it right away when towing (which is where it was really bad).

Now, having said that I don't know if it's attributable to the Timbrens, or because I didn't have a torque wrench when tightening up the Ubolts after the Timbren install, and therefore just simply tightened the living daylights out of the Ubolts with a 3/4" drive socket wrench and a helper bar.

So maybe there's a lot to be said for tightening the living crap out of the Ubolts. BTW, I had the Ubolts torqued to 70lbs WITH a torque wrench prior to the Timbren install
