    After seeing dirty looking oil from my dipstick and reading dealership horror stories I decided to change my one month old oil and see how it looked. This is what came out:

    I think this does not look like they changed the oil last month. I marked the old filter so they changed that but how do you know the dealership really changed oil? :mad:

    did you save some?

    i'd take a sample and have itl burned for oil analysis, then visit the dealership maybe with a lawyer with the results...looks like fraud to me. I wonder what corporate would say?

    Looks like it was in there for 4-5k.

    That's what mine looks like after 3,500 Miles using Fully Synthetic Oil too. Can't complain to corporate office Servco owns it. lol

    Mark the drain bolt and crush washer. It's more trouble than its worth to fool somebody that you did it.
    Get to know the shop and the guys working on your ride.
    I got 3 free oil changes when I bought my truck. Took it in on the first one , then said f-it, its easier if I do it myself. Besides I don't have to question if I did it correctly . Etc

    That's almost the exact miles that it was since the last oil change. They were supposed to have filled it with synthetic. I only drove 400 miles since they "changed" the oil.

    The only reason I took it there was because it was a free oil change. I don't think I'll ever take my truck back there.

    I have one of those blackstone labs kits sitting right in front of me for the next change in a month or so :D

    Yeah, this is why you DO NOT take your truck to Firestone on any of the military bases. Before our work truck went in for an oil change we marked the filter. Got it back and the filter was not changed.

    DIY is the best way to go.

    I'm happy to say I have never let anyone touch my truck for oil changes. Just alignment. And even then firestone manages to fuck up some of my lugs. Good thing I'm not an idiot and called them out on it. Now they are buying me 6 new lugs
