TRD Pro Smokescreen

^^^That's the 4Runner version.

I haven't been impressed with overhyped unveilings this year. The Corolla wasn't what I expected and the new WRX was lame. So Im skeptical on the TRD Pro Tacoma. Ill have to see what the package consists of. More than likely you could probably build a better equipped truck for the price of the Pro Package. But, Ill be watching to see whats up.

 

I predict no change for the 2015. I can't see them releasing a new lineup on trd pro Tacomas with gen old bodystyle

 

It almost seems like Toyota has forgotten the Tacoma I mean come on! The corolla got a facelift same with the 4Runner and Highlander!! Its time they updated the Tacoma already! I mean it will 10 years since they introduced the 2nd generation Tacoma.

 

Wonder if Toyota will beat the new Tacoma with the DarthVader ugly stick like they did the 4runner

 

No I don't think so. After all---what would have to complain about. I'm sure they will give us everything we want. All the way from keep it like it is to every gadget the Lexus has.

It is possible to continue introducing new technologies without altering the underlying platform. I wish they would quit messing around with front-end cosmetics and get busy with direct-injection gas and diesel engines.

One of the things that made the Jeep so popular and successful was many years of unchanged production. 1955-1971 were virtually identical, and 1972-1986 were mostly variations on the same theme with newer engines. Today, you can build one from scratch with aftermarket replacement parts, and it will be every bit as sustainable, capable and reliable as any factory Jeep.

 

That's not saying a lot

 

One more hour, interested to see if it's just going to be another flop like the Baja edition...

 

How are bajas flops? They sell like cray and people love them

 

Don't kid yourself. Those old Jeeps last forever if maintained and driven correctly within their design capabilities. I've had three of them, a 1955 and two 1977s. I've gotten stuck off-road a handful of times, but never broken down once in 30 years. 1979 is the last model year that I would confidently include in this group of Jeeps. It was all downhill from there, as they began using lighter-duty components for better fuel economy.

 

They're nothing special in my opinion... I haven't seen that many driving around, maybe 4.

 

That's because they don't make that many and I've seen a few and been wheeling with one haha. If I had the money I'd go for one

I've wheeled with a stock one as well. For the money it's just not worth it over a regular TRD Off Road.

I'm sure you would, then again any 4x4 would be an upgrade for you

 

Sell like crazy as in they sell almost as much as they make?

Yeah, they don't sell a lot of them though haha Nobody wants to spend that much money on a Tacoma for a coupe stickers and "upgraded" suspension.
