Very sad, why would the justice system let this defense in the court system. A big slap in the face to all the victims and their families. Everybody should be held liable for their own actions.

    The better coast
Because money talks. If I remember right his parents are paying the bill.....which means Texas won't have to pau for him if they ho this route.

Paying the judge off is illegal but I don't doubt the decsion was influenced by not only what I just said but also because the parents have political power in the form of funding something.

The perks the rich get. Kind of like the old days where the church would let put pay your way into heaven :)

He was tried and found guilty.

Double jeopardy is when you are found not-guilty... they can not try you again (except in civil court, or the Feds may press civil rights violation charges against you).
2 seconds after the jury delivered the verdict in the OJ trial, OJ could have stood up and said "SUCKAAAZ! I DID IT!" and there isn't a thing anyone in the world could do about it.

This kid was tried and found guilty, and the prosecution appealed the sentence. That is legal.

Ohhhh it was an appeal. That's why its in the news again and the judge hands down the same verdict/ decision... BS!!!

This POS was arrested this morning in Mexico...

Now say he may serve only 4 months for his probation violation.

    The system is broken.

Nope. He's gonna get at least 10 years for the probation violation, plus additional for running. And his mother will get time as well...

I read an article that said "up to 10 years" for probation violation. Hopefully he will get the max, if not more, he deserves it.

I'm still trying to figure out why the dumb fuck ran. I know that cell phone video surfaced of him at a party. But there's no evidence of him drinking on it. I mean we all can assume he was. But no proof.

CNN link indicating MAX of 4 months for fleeing to Mexico.

    http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/30/us/affluenza-teen-ethan-couch-detained-in-mexico/

I thought the same thing... Maybe there's more to the video or witnesses.

I'm wondering if he can get the 10 years for fleeing & boozing?

Latest news is he's not going to be immediately moved back to the US but staying in Mexico.

    The judge needs to go.

He's gonna be REALLY popular with Bubba and his buddies in prison!
He'll end up suffering from Assfluenza by the time they are done with him!
