    From my sisters boss who works for some weather company or some shit.

    Adverse conditions heading our way.

    The models are more in agreement (finally) and we now have a bit of snow on the radar to confirm the pattern evolution: we can expect significant snow totals, with steady, accumulating snow beginning midday today and with snow intensity peaking near evening commute time, but continuing overnight.

    This is likely to be the most significant widespread snow event the Portland area has had since 2009. We’re expecting more than 3” in most places, including Portland proper, but up to 7” in the places that get hit with the strongest bands (south of Portland proper). Snow totals are very hard to predict with this system because its “snow band” nature will result in big differences in snow totals at different parts of the metro area but we can rule out the zero/trace outcome.

    Commutes that are at high risk for adverse conditions from actively falling snow or freezing rain:
    snow: Thu evening, Fri morning, Fri evening, Sat morning;
    snow and fz rain: Sat evening;
    fz rain: Sun morning.
    Low risk: fz rain Sunday evening (except high risk in the gorge and extreme eastern suburbs).

    National Weather Service official warning is pasted below (the definition of a “winter storm warning for heavy snow” is “severe weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of emergency”), and note that there is an official “blizzard warning” in effect for I-84 from about Troutdale to the central gorge:

    ...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THURSDAY TO 4 AM PST
    FRIDAY FOR THE GREATER PORTLAND AND VANCOUVER METRO AREA...

    THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PORTLAND HAS ISSUED A WINTER
    STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN
    EFFECT FROM 10 AM THURSDAY TO 4 AM PST FRIDAY. THIS REPLACES THE
    WINTER STORM WATCH FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS NO LONGER
    IN EFFECT.

    * TIMING...BEGINNING MIDDAY THURSDAY...PEAK INTENSITY IN THE
    EVENING...AND TAPERING TO SNOW SHOWERS FRIDAY MORNING.

    * ACCUMULATION...2 TO 6 INCHES. BEST CHANCE FOR HIGHER END
    ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE SOUTH AND WEST OF PORTLAND.

    * WIND...EAST WINDS GENERALLY 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH.
    NEAR THE GORGE EAST WINDS WILL BE STRONGER...25 TO 35 MPH WITH
    GUSTS TO 50 MPH...LIKELY LEADING TO OCCASIONAL BLIZZARD
    CONDITIONS NEAR TROUTDALE.

    * LOCATIONS INCLUDE...PORTLAND...VANCOUVER...TROUTDALE...
    BEAVERTON...HILLSBORO...BATTLE GROUND...CAMAS...AND THE
    REMAINDER OF THE GREATER PORTLAND AND VANCOUVER METRO AREA.

    * IMPACTS...A PERIOD OF HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW WILL MAKE
    TRAVEL VERY DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND
    DURING THE THURSDAY EVENING COMMUTE.

    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

    I have something in the works, but it just isn't going to happen as soon as I was hoping for.

    If the boys at Firestone messed it up, take it back to them and have them correct it on their dime.

    I would make them foot the bill at a better place. I have heard to many shitty stories about Firestone.

    And RAPR, you got a jacked up truck with a lot of aftermarket goodies, I don't think they cover that in the 3 hour Firestone training course.
