would I be better off buying more dumbbells or buying a two handed curl bar and then put weights on it as I grow? Gonna try to get some protein powder and also eat chicken, beef, deer, and fish. Gotta look up more foods and variations of them to try.

Fact... back in the day there werent any powders... just eggs, eggs, more eggs, and lean clean meats..

Also I would recommend getting equipment that you can add weight to... easier to buy things for..

Whats your height weight... What are your goals? What does a normal day of food look like for you?

I would try and get a complete dumbbell set or one of those dumbbell things where you can put weight on it...at least up to 80-90 lbs. A barbell and some 45, 35, 25, 10, and 5 lb plates would be good, too. I know it's not cheap though....ever thought of just joining a gym lol?

I'm about 5'7" and weigh about 155-157. I want to get bigger and get bigger muscle mass. Not sure how to tell but I guess I'm a small fram person. I used to eat a cup of oatmeal with raisens in it for breakfast(I stopped about 2 weeks ago)(may start back), lunch most of the time is either leftovers at home(mostly spaghetti, chicken, sometimes salads with grilled chicken) or my wife and I grab some fast food for lunch, then supper is different every week. One night we will have breakfast sandwiches with scrambled eggs, sausage, and cheese, others its chicken, pork chops, spaghetti, or pizza once every two weeks. My wifes dr told her to lay off the red meat so we don't have beef but every now and then. I do have some deer in the freezer but thats mostly goign to be for me since my wife got kinda finiky off of it a while back.

In other news, I just had one of the best chestntri's workouts I've had in a while. My partner actually showed up, so I got to go heavy!

    flat bench: 1 RM 275
    4 sets of 5 @ 225
    decline: 4 sets of 6 @ 225
    incline burnouts: 4 sets of 10 @ 135

    skullcrushers/close grip presses: 3 sets of 15/10 @ 60lbs
    rope pushdowns: 3 sets @ 140lbs
    superset triceps kickback/cable flies: 3 sets of 10 @ 40 lbs/70lbs.

My chestntris are like limp noodles....measured my arms with pump and they were 16.5"....thinking about silicon implants lol

I have thought about it, but I'm not sure when I would be able to go. We get up at 5:30 and get ourselves ready and our little girl ready for daycare and leave the house every morning by 6:50. I have to be at work by 7:00 and I get off at 4:30. Once we all get home around 5:30 its supper, bath time for little girl, then we get our showers and lay her down at 8:00. I've been doing my push ups and sit ups and then last night did the dumbbell thing right before I took my shower. Thought that was the best time (free time anyway).

Deer is great! For you, if you're healthy, red meat is good, too. Red meat is a bodybuilder's best friend. This is what my bulking meal plan looks like, as an example:

meal 1: 4 egg whites, 2 whole eggs, 2 nutrigrain bars, apple

meal 2: 25g whey protein, 1 oatmeal packet, 2 tbsp. peanut butter

meal 3: 1 can whole tuna on whole wheat bread w/ mayo, spinach salad

meal 4: post workout meal: 25g whey protein, 1 oatmeal packet, 2 tbsp. peanut butter, 25 almonds

meal 5: whole wheat spaghetti w/ sauce, whole wheat bagel w/ cream cheese

meal 6: grilled chicken breast, sweet potato, some sort of greens

    You gotta eat to gain!

As for body type, which looks more like you?

Yeah, I hear ya. I don't have a child, but I can imagine it's harder to get to the gym with a kid lol. I'd either try to build a solid home gym or try finding a way to get in the gym for 45 mins 3-4 days a week. My workouts take no longer than an hour.

your diet would need a serious re work....

Oats in the morning is good, you'd need some eggs in there 2:1 ratio of eggs for every 2 egg whites have 1 whole egg

snack - should be like a low fat cheese stick and some almonds maybe a greek yogurt

you also need more white lean proteins for lunch... Id suggest chicken breast, obviously, with a lot of green veggies

pre workout always fuel with a source of protein and a slow digesting carb (sweet potato)

post workout you need a spike of sugar to stop your body from burning glycogen and then follow that with a meal. white protein and veggies

At night have no type of bread or grain... another white protein with green veggies

before bed have a few almonds and some cottage cheese

(I would do this before you start getting protein drinks because like I said your diet is so important)

Cut the fast food and youll see a huge difference

45 minutes to an hour isn't too bad. I thought it would take longer. I may could go after I get off of work if I go straight there and be back home close to when my wife and daughter get home. I will work on my diet. I hardly eat thought. I have a small breakfast will have a cup of coffee about 9am then lunch, then coffee at 3pm then supper and thats pretty much it. I don't snack during the day. If I need to start then I will just stating what I do now. I appreciate the tips and sorry for so many post just really interested.

Also, for the pic above I'm probably in between the far left and the middle.

Yeah if you eat like that you wont gain any muscle.. just lose it and gain fat.. also your body will go catabolic which means muscle break down... bad

^much better advice than my meal plan. We're pretty much on the same page, you just fine-tuned the shit out of it, though!

    It's all good!

Anything more than an hour and you're going to be burning muscle, which is not good for someone trying to gain it!

Unfortunately, if you wanna put on the muscle, you need to be eating about 4 times the amount you are now lol

Also, our body types are about the same. I started out a complete ectomorph, but have slowly started morphing into a more mesomorph look...sadly, if I quit working out, I'll go back to looking like a pole. It's tough building muscle, but once it's there, it's easy to maintain: just eat, lift, and repeat.

Has anyone tried the GNC brand Ultra Mega Green Multi? I had to go to GNC again today b/c I let myself run out of my ON whey before being able to order more from bodybuilding. I'm usually anti-multi vitamin because I eat a lot of vegetables, but being on keto at the moment, I'm not eating as much as I usually do, so I'm sure I'm a little low on my micronutrients.

Moral of the story is, has anyone tried the GNC brand Ulrta Mega Men's multi? It was only $9, so I got it.

Seat covers, weather tech digi fit, bug deflector, plasti dip wheels, magnaflow muffler, and many more to come!.. as soon as i get money. Ill probably go broke typing this...
Just ordered me an "Ape Athletics" stringer tank top. Seems like a legit company making quality products. Plus they look pretty bada$$.
I have a world's gym and gold's gym stringer so I figured it was time for me to add to the collection. I like stringers because it reminds me of what the old lifters like Arnold used to where. Takes me back to another time where real weights were lifted by real mean.
