Top plate spacers. No question. Ask to see the install of 5100s vs top plate spacers, you'd be ridiculous to do 5100s.

Good sticky, really informative but I still have a few questions. I would like lift mine up maybe 2" and was wondering what would be my best bet and what size tires can I go with without scrubbing? For now I have to stick with the stock rims. I would love to get a set of the TRD 17" bead lock wheels.

Hey everyone, I have a 2012 Taco. I am planning on doing a lift. Was recommended to do the Bilstien 5100's in the front, OME shocks and add a leaf in the back. I want a 3 inch overall lift and looking to get wider and bigger tires. I saw some Pro- Comp wheels with 5 inch back spacing, will this be wide enough to get some poke with the tires?/ Will i run into any rubbing problems?

cheap top plate spacers !!!! use 3 inch header collector flanges ! they come in 3/16 5/16 and 3/8 thickness .just open the bolt holes outward with a hacksaw ,jigsaw or cutoff wheel .paint and install .most muffler and parts stores carry them about a 1/3rd of what top plate spacers would cost ya

I am running the Bilstein 5100's at top level 2.5". Do I need to get UCA'S? I don't really notice any issues exept fot slight tire screeching when I make sharp U turns.

What are your alignment numbers? If your alignment is within specs, you like the way it drives and the stock UCAs aren't hitting the coils then you are fine.

ok, I am new (bet you haven't heard that before), read each and every post, and there were some that almost hit my scenario to the tee, too bad those weren't answered, at least not in the tread. Ride: 2009 TRDSport DC, just bought on Dec 18th, Carfax says its from MI so it has rust, especially the OEM Bilsteins, (I still need to check if TSB was done).
PLAN FOR LIFT: I installed 265x70x17 tires so they are just a little taller, not much, Have a winch so plans include a bumper, one of the hidden bumpers seem least $$$ and weight. I will take it off road, nothing "competitive" but not the bunny slopes either. Want to be able to carry stuff, mulch, dirt, etc.. (after all it is a truck)without hitting the stops but still want good ride when empty (doesn't have to be a rolls, again, it is a truck), Was looking at the 5100's with maybe AAL (if a coil added would be good too please say. Is this the best option for adding height, leaving good travel/ride and dependability+longitivity without messing with alignment? everyones posts were great info, especially TOKU58, but as stated, nobody hit my scenario exactly. Thanks, everyone for all the info, this is a great thread.
