    I'm on my second tacoma. First was 1999 that I bought new and modded with pretty much everything at one time or another for 14 years. Toyota bought it back due to frame rust. New tacoma is exact same truck down to the black color with alpine nav/dvd, tint, de-badged, and softopper, so far.
    Why o why won't Toyota put a six banger in the regular cab? Dumb!

    It needs a v8 package all other mid size trucks besides Nissan that I know of have a v8 option even Mitsubishi has a v8

    Squeaky clutch pedal (75,000 km)..
    Low seating level
    Not a lot of room in the back for a four door..
    Useless side steps
    Squeaky leaf springs
    Ticking blower motor on ow setting.. Small noises always piss me off
    Clunk when taking it out of 4x4 even with clutch depressed
    Who the hell needs a flashlight holder?
    The way the oil filter is placed..

    How you can't use power windows even from driver side with the power window lock on

    Rear view mirror too low, no lock on glove box, Sport model has matching color rear bumper (I'd prefer chrome), doors don't close as easily as my 07 4Runner, no defrost on rear window, no one touch window closing, no sunroof option.

    What I love is that my dealer included a lifetime, unlimited mileage warranty for engine and powertrain, and has fixed pricing that no local dealer could match, much less beat.

    The lack of adjustments for the seat, particularly vertical adjustments.

    Three out of five times I fasten my seatbelt, I bump the center console button and it opens.

    It's the least roomy of all of my trucks. I couldn't survive a Gen. 1.

    Since you asked, the cloth on the door handles is just stupid. I don't like the no intermittent setting on the stock wipers. I didn't like my cheap Mexican clutch that only hung in there for 22,000 miles. I didn't like my original radio that was either repaired or replaced EIGHT times! My gray carpet is hard to keep clean and seems like a poor color choice. The wheels and tires that are standard on the xtra cab are way too tiny for the truck. The roof/ceiling speakers BLOW! I'd also like to be able to only open the fuel cap from inside the truck. And it should be a locking door. A sunroof option from Toyota would have been nice. Headlights that don't melt would have been important if it were up to me. Maybe I'm just picky....Otherwise it's a great truck. Maybe, just not as great as Toyota trucks from the past?
