Because I am dumb and didn't realize it? lmao. I am not sure. I forgot that you mentioned that one earlier and when I found this deal I jumped on it. I just got an email from them wanting more information, so I am not sure what that is about. Perhaps you can give me more info? Are you talking about the one you linked? I never heard of that brand, so I wasn't sure about parts and warranty. Lincoln has been around for so long. lol.

LOL, alright. Well all we run in my shop are thermal arc welders! I wouldnt have it any other way, unless I wanted some much larger industrial machines that they don't manufacture. I run an older Thermal arc 210 Fabricator with both the standard gun and a spool gun for all my aluminum, and I've got the next step up from the 181, the 211i. I'll be getting a 252i with a spool gun as my next machine most likely. Love the welders!
With all the adjustments, you can just dial them in so much better than the similar welders from Miller/hobart/lincoln etc.

Yes, the one I linked earlier. They've got free shipping on welders through that site too so no need to worry about added cost there either- the price you see is the shipped price, and then you cant beat a free welding helmet (its not a bad/cheap hood either, we use it as a spare/backup hood in my shop. I almost prefer it over my $325 Miller Digital Elite hood:eek:).

Have you heard of Tweco MIG guns, or Victor regulators and torches, or Thermal dynamics plasma cutters? Same parent company. They're high quality and they back up their warrany (And they uphold it better than Lincoln, from what I've heard at least regarding Lincoln warrany from a few different LWS). You can find Tweco and Victor at pretty much any welding supply shop, so no worries on parts!

Thanks. I am going to see if I can cancel that other order. They said in the reply email that the taxes were calculated wrong.

Compared to the 181i, the 211i holds the larger 33/44lb rolls of wire, has multi-voltage input(run off 110 or 220), and has of course more power and therefore a higher duty cycle on the thinner than maximum materials. Great machine if you dont mind spending the extra $250 over the 181i and probably the last welder you'd need. I've welded up to 1/2" with it without any problem.

It looks like I can still run the 2lb spools though, like I already have bought. Correct?

It's a love-hate relationship. Your wallet might hate me, but once you get everything you're going to love what you end up with. :D

If you need a spool gun for that rig let me know. I have a brand new one that I do not need. Will make you a hell of a good deal on one. I had the 211 and it is an awesome machine. I traded it for the 186. So I can tig aluminum.

PM me a price for it if you dont mind. :) Only reason I havent bought one is because it seemed to be a little smaller/lighter duty gun, but as a backup setup it may be worth at least having around my shop.
