I am looking into this new TSB. It would be nice to FINALLY get this resolved. I think since Sweers has taken over, he has made this a priority where before it hadn't been.

I just bought a used 2013 4x4 Double Cab, only has 9000 miles on it and I've noticed this vibration as well. Seems to occur on take-off in the first two gears and then on the highway I notice it a bit. I will say a 2014 I drove seemed smoother. It's not making me regret buying it or anything, but it would be nice to get it fixed before I go on a long vacation in May with it. Based on service history it doesn't look like my truck had any TSB applied to it in the past, so I don't know if the previous TSB would have fixed it. Any chance they're replacing it with a one-piece shaft with the new TSB? I read another thread where folks were putting one piece shafts on and it fixed it, but it was out of pocket.

Is there any chance we can get a PDF copy of this new TSB? The service manager i have been dealing with is going to be real surprised when i throw this tsb at him tomorrow.

Is your 13 an sr5 sport or trd off road? the smoothness of the 2014's as far as driveline vibes are likely due to the fact that ALL 6 lug tacomas have the 3+1 overload leaf pack which reduces axle wrap which is one of the causes of this driveline vibration vs just the sport tacos having the 3+1 overload on the 13's and earlier.

My 2013 is a Base TSS, not SR5 or TRD. The 2014 I drove I believe was an SR5 TSS.

I had a one piece drive shaft made for mine and it still vibes in second gear 15-25mph. I'm really hoping I can get it taken care of by messing around with angles.

When I went to the dealer the first time to talk to them about my really saggy rear suspension and driveline vibes I went around and looked at every single Tacoma they had on the lot while I was waiting... The 2013 and older only came with a 3 leaf + overload if it was a sport otherwise it was a 2 + overload... And every single 2014 from your base 6 lug regular cab I 4 to the dcsb trd off road 4x4 and all the way to the dclb 4x4 sport all had a 3 leaf + overload.

My 2014 4WD automatic regular cab just has the 2+1 leaf pack. It also has 6 lug wheels.

Yes, I just checked it again. For my purposes this is fine so far. I do not want a stiffer ride, or a higher ride height.

The only thing I have hauled in the bed so far is a cane. It handled the extra weight just fine. Maybe I'll try hauling an aluminum walker, and see how it does.

1st part changes out the rear engine mount. (not sure why since I think our newer trucks already have this). 2nd part adds the steering wheel damper like the previous TSB, but- there is 1 part for the earlier steering wheels and 1 part for the newer steering wheels. Part 3 measures the pinion joint and prop shaft angles to calculate the rear u joint angle. This result is used to choose the correct leaf spring pair from multiple part numbers that are listed in tables in the TSB. Sounded like there was around 6 different spring sets. Some have no caster wedge, some have 2 deg caster wedges, and some have 3 deg caster wedges. This seems to make sense that they are trying to match the u joint angle with the angle of the trans output and first shaft u joint.

please do, if possible get a full copy of the TSB and get some pics / scan them into a pdf of it so we know the full details.

I was actually going to call the service rep i have been going back and forth with about my driveline vibes as well as sagging and he called me today and said he ordered the tool and parts (presumably the angle finder, rear transmission mount and steering wheel dampener) to start this process. Which will be good as i now will have an option for the 4 leaf pack.

I'm waiting to hear back from mine. I'll probably have to call him seeing as how when I went in to document the problem he had no idea what I was talking about...
