If you like running, and beer, and general debauchery.......

The Seattle Hash House Harriers (your friendly neighborhood drinking club with a running problem) is having their annual Red Dress Run. I'm actually laying the trail. Yes, that means wearing a red dress. It's okay though, you'll have 200 of your closest fr.... ummm, strangers running around in dresses too. And its for charity!

    Info available at http://reddress2014.wh3.org/

If you've never heard of hashing, check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hash_House_Harriers and http://youtu.be/EPQsg354Dew and http://youtu.be/yQq8WjVKc5I

Just some of the fun loaded up for tomorrow

    1. Hashing sounds like fun
    2. That is a bunch of nasty beer. If I went I would have to bring my own beer

the quality of the beer varies from run to run, but really, the shit beer is the best (especially in summer). you don't want to run 3-5 miles with a gut full of manny's.

The way it was portrayed in the video was that there is a group meeting spot, the beginning, then the harrier takes off with a head start, then everybody else follows, then there is the meetup at the end, and that is where the beer drinking happens. In other words, run first, drink second, sing lude songs and drink more beer.

beer at the beginning while everybody is arriving.
beer checks on trail to slow the pack
beer at the end while waiting for pack and circle
    additional down-down's given during circle.

very rarely is there a shortage of beer. of course, all of that varies from one kennel to the next. Seattle H3 is more drinking oriented than some. there are kennels that don't drink at all- i'll never go to one.

No more taco life for me
tried to help someone stuck on gaarde today.

    walked up to said vehicle:

sir' do you give me permission to tow you out?
    "yes'
    great, thanks.
*get tow gear prepared & walk to vehicle again*
sir' by giving me permission to tow I take on no responsibilities for damaged property and will not be held accountable for said actions.
    "derp okay - hippy guy"
plastic skid plates covering all recovery points on this kia..
sir have you tried reverse? do I need to tow you backwards?
"well I don't know if I could go backwards I need to go up the hill"
... sir, i will redirect traffic and you will need to find an alertnative route.

man, i felt like I may as well have been reading him Miranda rights or something.

My experience with Hashing was in Bahrain with the Bahrain HHH (1987).
We ran thru a horse cemetery in the rain (yeah, when the F does it rain in the middle east?!?!) and then ended up with a bon fire of epic proportions: The organizers piled about 10 dead palm trees up, poured some gasoline on it and lit it = BOOM! The flames were about 20-30 tall and you couldn't be within 50' of the pile - it burned for hours. I must have drank a lot of beer as I don't remember $hit after that.

Is this gonna happen at Volunteer Park?!?!

And DO tell your hash name -> Portajohn, Mexican Rimjob, Festering Drip, Pocahomo

    1. Is there a lookup to go from a serial to a VIN?
    2. Is that the motor that was offered to you from the guy who would also do the install, the one that the guy was going to supercharge?
    3. Do you have a backup plan for a different motor?

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
    I know :pout:
    1. Only the dealer can access the build sheet from the VIN. It is basically a serial catalog of every part on your truck. I tried calling a few dealers before Tyler (and Alex) Michael's in Bellevue helped out. I had him run my VIN too, and made sure my engine # matched (just to confirm we had the right code).
    2. He still has the engine, but tested the compression and (2) of the cyl. are really low and would need to tear it down. Sort of a last resort option.
    3. Back to the drawing board for motors. Gonna call around again and search around. Haven't talked to insurance yet either...debating if that would even be equitable with a $500 deductible and increased premium. And who to say they wouldn't claim it 'Totaled'. Then I try to buyback or start from scratch....just seems like a potential PITA...but it is still an option.

I think I'm just gonna save up and put a 2ur-fse engine in it.
