I like Wrath a lot but not sure if it's just me changing style of music I like or the actual band but I can agree I like Ashes and Sacrament better.

LOL, never been one to buy the tee's. EVER. but it just riles me to no end when someone shows me that song. I had crack the skye before it was out. and was well aware of who they were even before Blood Mountain. I actually got into them right after leviathan came out. and now that they get radio play. all these morons are trying to tell me about them... the same ones that wouldnt give them a try in 2004.

no fault in loving a kickass band, just fault in suckling at the teat of radio.

if you found them on your own. good on ya. if you just barely heard that song.

    OYE.

i'd heard of them a while back, but heard this song on the XM the other day at work and thought it was kickass. yeah, heard on the radio...but at least it's not terrestrial radio. i'm with you....don't like the man selling me music(my list of country songs have probably never been heard on the radio lol), but XM and a few threads like this one on the interweb are about the only places i hear new (to me) music. i don't have much time to seek out the underground stuff anymore, so most of the stuff i hear comes from Octane or Faction on XM. any of their other songs that i should check out? getting a few lists ready for downloading.

ALL mastodon is worth getting! but If you found them on XM its only like... 15% fail, versus X96's 95% fail...

if you liked crack the skye, blood mountain will be right up your alley

some really good stuff to check out if you dig the DOOMish aspects of mastodon are Esoteric,Ahab, The Angelic Process and Black Math Horseman(this one actually has a female singer in it!)

now. these bands dont sound JUST LIKE mastodon. but mastodon is a damn fine heavy metal band. heavily influenced by the sludge/doom/stoner metal genres... so you may find something in those you like!

and Slumber is one of my all time favorite metal bands. they just blow my mind...

but if you ever find a band you like, or genre... and want more of it... PM me and I can usually get you some of the underground stuff, without you having to dig for months to find it!
