Do I need to change the alternator in order to run this battery?

Ya, no need to go that tight, there should be a small gap between the upper and lower portion. Just snugged down is good, the lock washers will keep everything cinched down.

Have decided I am going to do the big 3 mod, while everything is out this week. Well, technically big 2 since I have already replaced the battery ground with 0 AWG.

I have been debating doing this when I install mine. Don't really know if there is a point though, since I don't have a big audio system, and all my aux stuff is on its own fuse panel. Don't really understand the benefits if you don't have a system.

Sorry for clogging this thread up with this, but I didn't want to start a thread on it, and tried searching, but could only find answers to back it up with a system.

Its where you increase the size of wire going from the + battery to the alternator, from the -battery to the grounds, and in some casses + to the starter. The bigger the wire means less resistance, typically with a 0guage.. Stock wiring is 4 guage so unless you have a huge stereo im not sure what the point is. Btw you can buy your own wire from anywhere, you dont have to buy a kit .
