mine are the toyota brakes but i think they were the AZ series so the budget ones Toyota stoped. Whenever they're bad ill be replacing with Toyota parts. They just need to be greased up again.

Yeah I've had good luck with Toyota parts, unless we are talking lift and off road parts. I use only Toyota parts, they are more expensive but seem to last longer in general.

i was lucky enough to work for Toyota in parts so i've seen cheap part carnage and have seen the difference in some of the Toyota parts being superior so its made me a believer. Just some things you shouldnt cheap on.

I only use Toyota parts. Mostly because when I get stuff done it is there because every other shop here is more of a rip off than the dealer

Yup I paid to have mine towed to a dealership where I knew the mechanic. It was an hour from my house. My starter went out so I just had him overhaul the whole thing motor, axels, wheel bearings, brakes, 90k service, the whole shebang.

dealers arent all bad but most are. Its tough to find a shop you trust. I know all the techs at mine so it helps. Ill be needing to do the timing belt soon and im not looking forward to footing that bill.

I know all of the guys at the local shops and they are all idiots. They just opened up shops because they didn't have a job and needed to do something. And the dealer pricing for the most part is cheaper here

that makes me pucker. I can get the parts at my cost (cost+10%) so at least i have that edge. Maybe they'll help me out on labor depending what tech they give it to. 109k miles. Nothing on record of timing belt changed so it makes me a little nervous.

i've heard both ways good and lots of miles and others with short miles. I need to check with my records on water pump. Most likely its been changed as it was recommended once and turned down then never came back up so im hoping that means they changed it not at toyota. I've opened it up and looked and the belt looked brand new.
