    Jim:
To some extent we are. Our job is to minimize the amount of tax we pay and get as much money as we can out of the system. I know it is unpopular but our age group has paid a lot of money into the tax system over the years and we need to grab all we can.

I do not consider unemployment compensation as a gift. It is money we earned when we worked regardless of our employer. Our employer had to pay unemployment insurance on each employee so it really was part of your employment package. Employers have to pay this cost even for part time employees. I believe this last statement is true. I may be wrong.

Anyway we are the ones with the money and no legal help to keep our money. If we could we would have lobbyist help congress write the tax laws to allow us to keep our money. That is what the super rich have going for them.

Things are changing down there Jim. They are trying to push through new taxes for real estate. Most people living there have to work 2 jobs just to make ends meet. We go down diving every September and bring a cooler with many of our meals. Prices are high on food and liquor as well as everything else. Can't even hide money there anymore as they have a reciprocal agreement with the US:rolleyes:...

    Morning all:
Tom; my tax rate was HIGHER, due to the added "INCOME" from the rollover, and I spread it over 2 yrs.
Here's the article I read. It seemed pretty informative.
    Go to > Ask.com
Type in> will my Medicare premium go up if I do an IRA conversion
On the right side of the screen that comes up> look under the heading for "retirement income visions". There will be 3 parts to the article.
I'm sure there are plenty of other informative articles on this, but this is the one that I found to be helpful.
Maby its time to find an "ALL CASH" source of income!

Also protect the groin and when you go on offense do not give the attacker a large target area.

I know, we are all getting tired of talking about it....I am tired of winter. In two months, I think we have had maybe a week of temperatures over 32". Presque Isle Bay (which is the north shore of the City of Erie and part of Lake Erie) has 16" thick ice. We received 14" of snow this past Wednesday.

Bingo someone gets it===THIS, the company is having a tough time shaking its ho-hum image, the legacy of about a decade's worth of mass-market oriented models designed to keep corporate coffers full and dealers happy, but which did little to raise the pulse of enthusiasts.===:bored::bored::bored::bored::bored::bored:

Would it be in bad taste to respond to a post by my ex's new wife?

I'd say don't go there if it's where the grand kids are gonna see it. They don't need to be brought into the fray. Just my opinion and I don't have all the details.

Really sorry Susan. I know it really hurts and frustrates you. :(
