Isn't it just an insert or do you have to replace the whole grill?

The colored part separates from the insert piece with about a dozen screws and clips. From the looks 2012+ should all be able to fit this piece.

Neither I, nor anyone else, actually said that it was a Tacoma suspension pic...

I simply posted the pic to show that Toyota actually is using an "upgraded" suspension for the TRD-Pro models.

I knew it wasn't a Tacoma, but the shock/spring is definitely different than current stock assemblies on the 4Runner.

    :)

Note the KDSS sway bar mounts to the LCA, while the spindle retains the mounting hole for the "normal" sway bar link. I wonder why Toyota did this.

Could be a clearance issue with the 9100's much wider coil over set up.

Nope, nothing to do with the new shock. The KDSS sway bar is the same way with the regular Trail Ed.

Pretty weird how Toyota would roll out the truck at the "World Premier" as the banner says in the background, but it doesn't have the BFG AT KO's on it. . . . .

Not quite as bad as a Ford ad I saw many years ago in Time magazine stating "Quality is Job One". The accompanying picture had a Ford Escort coming off the assembly line with no windshield wiper arms.

And so kind of Toyota to provide 1/4" aluminum front skid for the Tundra and 4runner, but still the 1/8" steel for the Taco.

Show vehicles, even for "production ready" are often put together differently than final production. I guarantee these didn't roll out of the factory with all this TRD Pro equipment on them. One-off builds strictly for the show.

Well, I figure "World Premiere" - how difficult is it to have BFG AT KO 265/75/16's on the truck? As advertised as stock equipment. Those are some of the most common tires used on the entire planet . . . .

The 1/8" skid for the Taco is aluminum. It's been offered as an accessory since '05 I think, now bundled into the TRD Pro package.

The difference is the Taco skid is installed over the existing steel skid, while in the 4Runner it appears to replace the steel skid.

    Just the basics
So many with so many issues. Yes we all want a redesign and/or for Toyota to step up to the plate and challenge the Raptor. When the Baja came out there was a lot of hate for that too. Sounds like there are quite a few proud Baja owners commenting here. I think the new Pro series is a step in the right direction. Do I want it? Definitely. Am I going to get it? No. My truck is paid off and does what I need it to do and does it well. Hoping it will last through the first few years of the next gen. This being said the Pro series is looking very nice.

Agreed with everything but the remorse. Not even a twitch of remorse here.

Hope sales go terribly for Toyota with this one. What a lazy company. Had said before that if Toyota doesn't redesign the 2015 Tacoma AND at the very least start using the FJ/4R 4.0L that I'd never buy another one of their vehicles again. Huge let down. LAZY.

The only plus is that my 2012 will be valued higher without a new face lift/complete redesign when I kick it to the curb for a new (insert any truck here that actually has done something in the last decade)
