For the time being. The BATFE changes their opinion all the time. The standards for what is an 80% lower have changed no less than 3 times in the last 7 years.

People have been arrested for the rubber band mod.

Regardless of the BATFE's opinion, California considers the Slide-Fire to be a "multiburst trigger actuator" and it is not legal here.

Have not shot with it yet, but FEELS very secure mounted. ..I like it because it's a bit slimmer than others and the switch is easier to operate

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
I understand that they can change the rules, but I don't see how you could be arrested for buying something completely legal at the time of purchase as per their own approval. I just can't see any prosecution sticking if you prove that you purchased the item under lawful circumstances. They could decide they don't like Glocks... Will they be kicking in 30 million doors to arrest people who bought them legitimately?

First they will ask all Glock owners to surrender their arms..........when nobody shows up, then they will start kickin' in doors.....this is where the Glock 18 comes in handy.......I heard.

I never said you'd be arrested fir buying it. If they change the law & you don't surrender to local LE and/or destroy you'll get fined $100k & do 10yrs in a Federal Pound-me-in-the-ass-prison if you're found w/it. Best case scenario you're out $500 in that scenario.

    Bingo.

They can and have retroactively banned/outlawed items purchased legally.
Both of California's AW bans and the .50 cal rifle ban offered owners the choice of registration (not guaranteed approval) or surrender/sale to an FFL. If the application for registration wasn't approved, the guns had to be "disposed of" prior to the expiration of the grace period.

Same thing will happen if they are ever successful in passing an outright ban on magazines larger than 10rds.

And even with the OK from the BATFE, it's still just as illegal in California as the Slide Fire.

You might as well delete the thread then because it's almost impossible to talk guns now without bringing up anything to do with laws and legislation. :p

It's simple, discuss what you bought. Not how u got it or the politics behind it. No reason to ruin a good thread guys.

I'm just saying. Current and possible future legislation is a big factor in gun purchases.
